Getting a family together for everyone to pose and smile..... well.... 😂😂😂😂 you can see how interesting that can be. Took maybe 10 photo’s this was the best one. 😂😂😂😂💗💗💗💗 I love my family. Since I was a child I have loved trees. And roots fascinate and inspire me. We can all get busy in life and forget how precious our time is here on earth. Being out in nature, playing, listening to the river, walking in the rich earth, studying the roots, laughing, being adventurous, brings everything into focus. #outdoorfamily#hikingfamily#momof4#momissues#natureisawesome#roots#treespirit
I came to know the #Rowan or #MountainAsh while living in Ireland. It was the tree that indicated the long awaited arrival of summer- the red berries glowing bright and hanging abundantly graceful. I had one outside my front door and learned they are planted there to provide protection in Celtic beliefs. .
This is a tree of great lore, magic and enchantment! To the Celts the Rowan was a symbol of the hidden mysteries of nature and the quickening of the life force. As you can see there are tiny pentagrams on each berry, the sacred symbol of protection. Rowan means flame and the abundant berries show you it’s time to reap the rewards of your hard work. Patience is key- As I remember waiting so hard for those damn berries to ripen so summer would arrive! Rowan teaches us to have faith knowing that we are protected and can and will achieve our dreams with diligence and patience. .
“I am protected and indestructible.
Come what may, I am loved.
I accept the sweetness and abundance of Life and acknowledge my gifts.
I honor the energy of Rowan for protection against evil enchantment.
I will not hobble myself with the chains of past failures.
So mote it be.” #ogham#celticshamanism#druidry#obod#treespirit#celticwisdom#naturemagic#plantessence#healing#naturehealing#ecotherapy#glastonbury#chalicewellgardens#sacrednature#naturalhealth#celtic
. . .
we found hops growing wild at the entrance to the most ancient grove of black cottonwoods in all the explored world.
. . .
i finally looked up the red berries growing everywhere in the forest. you know, the ones that look like a refined and delicate, richly hued raspberry? turns out they are thimble berries and they are a delight to eat. i’ve seen them almost my entire life and not tried them until this thirty-eighth year. weird.
. . .
i place milkweed seed pods on windowsills. strange alien pods. i keep going back to caress and gently squeeze them; relishing their surprising pliancy and their oddly shaped, fuzzy yet spiney, outer skin.
. . .
i curse the fcking earwigs. i hate them in fact. they are ugly and destructive and they bite. fck those guys.
. . .
i go to whisper,
and laugh my heart desires into the smoke of my sweet grass.
i intend to let it all float out to the falling stars of the perseids.
but then i remember the earth is offering her own smoke and let prayers, conscious and not, land thick and heavy into that instead.
. . .
i go to bed.
tired and content.
I’ve begun reading #plantspirithealing by @pam.montgomery.589 and was so inspired by the books cover artwork where an image of a plant was mirrored upon itself and visually it brought to life the appearance of a being that looked like the spirit of the plant. I went through some of my own pictures of nature beings that I’ve met and photographed and came across this incredible tree I met earlier in the year in Costa Rica. I mirrored the image and this incredible spirit being appeared in the center of the tree. Maybe you see it, maybe you don’t...? ✨🦉🌳✨ #pachamama#mothernature#treespirit
