Sun City - Khalid
Notable Features: none
Saturday Nights 6/10
Salem’s Interlude 5/10
This is the first EP and follow up release to his 2017 release American Teen, El Paso singer Khalid goes into absolutely no detail about anything special on his latest EP Suncity. This is a pretty boring listen with generic pop/r&b beats and recycled sounds from other artists who do this genre way better then Khalid as well as pretty boring penmanship. This album has no sonic value and nothing special in its production and experiments because really it just feels like a group of throwaways from his last album. I do enjoy some tracks on here such as Better and Motion as they sound just a little less dull then the other songs on this EP. Looking at the bigger picture I don’t even know if Features could save this album, his last album had none but at least it had the hits to back up the popularity of the album. But dear god this is not a good EP by any means necessary and I was heavily let down by everything when it comes to this project. Do you agree or disagree? What album should I review next?
