Out of all the scenes in Italy, this was my favorite. We had spent hours in the busy parts of Venice when we got tired of the crowds and wanted to see the real Italy. So we did what we do best - we got hopelessly (well, we had Google maps haha) lost but deliriously happy with the quiet alleys that we had discovered, like this one 💕⠀

there are many aspects of living in a van that are inconvenient. rarely a day goes by without us searching for the cleanest bathroom, the hottest shower, the nearest water tap, or the sunniest parking spot we can find for our tiny off-grid metal box we call home. it's easy to imagine that such tasks would tire us out by now.
but when i think back on our time so far in the van, i don't really remember the bathroom stops, the varying quality of campground showers or even the weight of elephantine water jugs i've carried across seemingly endless distances from water taps to the van.
what I remember is the countless times we've rounded a bend in the road to discover an unfamiliar place that made us say: "holy sh*t. where are we?!... this. is. frickin. AWESOME."
Can’t wait to get back in the skies ✈️

Never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite & never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and take in the experience.
After 113 days on the run...this whirlwind of an adventure has come to an end. Much love & appreciation for all the amazing people I connected with along the way!
Having a Fern Gully moment. But on a more serious note, deforestation is not something to joke about. According to the UN, 18 million acres of forest are lost every year to urbanization. That’s the same size as the country Panama! The best thing anyone can do is to educate themselves. Some of my favorite resources are WWF, Nat Geo and CI.
