In mid November, over three thousand bald eagles gather around the Chilkat river in Haines, Alaska. They are after one thing: salmon. As the run ends, the eagles have to gorge before the water freezes entirely.
They were all around us in the trees, clutching to their mothers as they swung from branch to branch. Baby orangutans with the faces of little people reminding me just how important it is that we look after them after all of the damage we have caused their habitat.
