KANTO LAMPO WATERFALL, Ubud, Bali.
Bali waterfalls section. ———————————————————————
A little less than half an hour ride from Ubud and only 10 minutes from the busy Tegenungan waterfall there is a beautiful cascade that rushes over the quarry rock face - Kanto Lampo waterfall.
It is probably the shortest walk down of all Bali waterfalls: a few minutes down the stairs and then through the rocks in the river to the Kanto Lampo Waterfall that is adorned with beautiful rock cliffs.
Here you can climb to the waterfall cliff to feel the cool of the waterfall. Be careful though - the rocks aren’t slippery, but the fall is strong in some places.
We had to wait a little until another couple and three Japanese girls finished their photo shoots.
Don’t forget to bring replacement clothes, because of course you will be drenched. You can change clothes on the left side of the stairs.
Kanto Lampo is quite a new waterfall - it was created around 3 years ago after an avalanche hit the Kanto Lampo River.
Previously the water that now partly flows over the cliff was used for irrigation of farm land.

9/20 — The 9th country in our round-the-world series: Australia. Given its size, you can probably imagine we had a lot to choose from and plenty we didn’t get to see. We spent 4 very, very active weeks traveling much of the east coast - from Tasmania to Melbourne and the Twelve Apostles, Sydney, Brisbane, and finally Cairn and the Great Barrier Reef. All that and we still felt like we had barely scratched the surface of this beautiful continent.
If you have the opportunity to visit, we highly recommend that you plan to travel as slowly as possible. Australia was hands down the most expensive place we visited on our RTW trip (we spent most of our time in South America and South East Asia). The more you move and the faster you need to move, the more expensive it’s likely going to be. It’s also the kind of place that rewards slow travel. Picture this: scenic drives, long hikes, slow beach days, top notch food scene, friendly locals you actually want to get to know, and so much more.
What parts of Australia are you most curious about?
Many places I visit I see through the eyes of a movie.
So on my first visit to Kyoto visions of the Last Samurai and Memoirs of a Geisha were front of mind. Walking through the 10,000 gates for the first time made me laugh when I learned that the Japanese writing up and down doesn't in fact share words of wisdom, but instead represents advertisements / sponsorships from individuals and companies. Likely way off, but I had to laugh that instead of saying something profound with every step we took uphill, the translation was more akin to billboards for Google, local beer, or insurance companies. #bubbleburst#Kyoto#10000gates
KIPUAN KEBO WATERFALL, Leke-Leke, Bali.
Bali waterfalls section. ———————————————————————
Leke Leke is the name of the place where Kipuan Kebo waterfall and other activities are located. It is over an hour ride from Ubud.
The trail down to Leke Leke waterfall is well maintained with steps cut into the land, cleared paths and bamboo bridges to cross over the rivers.
The hike into the waterfall is quite an easy one that takes approx 15 minutes. The walk is beautiful and provides a lot of picture opportunities. ———————————————————————
When we arrived at the waterfall I thought it looked like a flow of white satin surging down in to a shallow pool below.
As we arrived in the afternoon we were the only two people at the fall and had complete access to it in the middle of a Balinese jungle.
I loved the fact that it is so beautiful and not touristy regardless of the time you arrive. What a hidden gem!!
Grandfather (Abuelo/Lolo) Gilberto "Bibit" M. Duavit, Sr., you dedicated your life in the service of our family, our clan, our hometown of Binangonan, our province of Rizal, and our country, the Philippines, as a public servant, executive secretary, minister, constitutionalist, legislator, businessman, co-founder of GMA-7 Network, and private citizen. You will be sorely missed by all of us. You will forever be in our hearts.
Eternal rest, grant unto you, Grandfather Bibit, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon you. May your soul, through the mercy of our loving God, rest in peace. Amen. @riroycm @matetgavino 😘 #JourneyOfLife#JourneyOfFaith#Journey#Travel#AuthenticTravel#TravelMindset#Backpacking
“Motive - my ultimate belief in what defines my existence” (today’s journal) 📝🤓☯️
I shot my first Hyperlapse with my @sonyalpha a couple days ago at #thebigapple .. But relax, I’m really (not) that biga deal 😆
Enough about me.. what’s up with you⁉️
As we roll into 2019, I wanted to share some photos from my favorite moments of 2018. Here’s another look of the Blue Ridge Parkway from @discoverjacksonnc — sans car. I spent 20 minutes crouched on a ledge waiting for a car to come around that bend, but some of my favorite “outtakes” are photos like this one where that light is just right. ✨
