The best part of traveling to a new location is experiencing the unexpected. We never knew we would be sitting at an open air Thai restaurant, enjoying the cool breeze and listening to live local French rap music! #whatsnextdad#travelkids#canada 🇨🇦
This lovley lady was one of the people that keep the fort clean for visitors. In India, it always seems like the lower the caste, the brighter and more colorful the clothes. She grabbed us and asked if she could take a picture with my family....
To the world you are a dad .. to our family you are the world!! ✨
Happy Father’s Day @crisguerrero today and everyday. I know the struggle is real for you too in a very different way, but I promise you being reunited with your princess again will be worth the wait. Looking forward to exploring another new country with you after our last co-parenting adventure. We have our spats 😾 but we sure do make it to some incredible places. #Tb to that beautiful San Francisco sunset shining on your shining faces! #shinealife#fathersday#coparenting#sanfrancisco
Monday! Jumping into a new week with @traveltalesofus for some serious family travel inspiration! #mondaymotivation
Looking out the window at the rainy day 🌧 outside and I’m sorely missing the beautiful Croatian weather! ☀️🇭🇷
Rovinj is a stunning town, with a Venetian style old town. 💕
It was once an island, but the Venetians who then owned it filled in the channel to join it to the mainland. 👍🏻 It definitely has a similar look to areas of Venice. ❤️💛
I love that the buildings are painted bright colours, much nicer than the rough cast up here! 😂
What towns have you enjoyed visiting abroad? 😊
To the man that braves the cold British sea to take the kids swimming in his trunks whilst every other sensible person is in a wet suit.
To the man who carries the kids downstairs every day and gets them breakfast whilst I'm still waking up.
To the man I almost poisoned this morning making breakfast... eek (see my stories)
To the man who loves to give them adventures just as much as I do.
To the man who loves them more than they'll ever realise.
Happy Fathers day!
Hope you've had a good day whatever you've been doing!
This weekend marked my first ever experience of a Hungarian thermal springs bath and a sauna.
It was a learning experience to just soak and do nothing in the water.
I started off attempting to float and do kicks (cos my body wanted to swim) and I ended up getting looks of mild amusement from the Europeans there. The purpose of visiting a hot springs bath is apparently to just soak and to just be. It took a few attempts but I finally managed to relax. I tried a 50 degree sauna and that was weirdly easy enough to get used to. ( I’m guessing this is a good skill to have considering global warming and all that. See - I’m relaxed enough to attempt black humour) The best thing about the thermal baths we visited was how it was entirely a family experience - there were separate baths for kids from the age of 0-3, 3-12 and even free floats and play things and fountains. Kids were running around naked and half naked and their parents were pretty much the same. I loved how everyone seemed so comfortable with their bodies. Something that is still very much something I’m learning to do as an Indian woman. #timesofammatravels
👋 wife here. Sitting in our Florentine flat, Matt wrote this letter to Kailen 365 days ago...
“We'd like to think you'll remember bits and pieces of this one day. We're hoping when you're a teenager you'll get a whiff of fresh bread or taste an extra sweet tomato and you'll rocket back to a long forgotten memory of Italy.
You may not understand much about this trip until you're well into school. You probably won't have the same story as your new classmates. Some kids might think you're different because of it. Whatever effect it has on you, this part of your life will certainly make you unique. We hope it's going to be an advantage for you, no matter what people think.
But as your dad, I'm so excited for you. We both are. We're excited because not all schools have four walls. Together, as a family, we will learn the most important lessons in life, whether it be from talking to new people, experiencing new cultures, exploring new streets, or stepping into someone else's shoes. These are all things I wish I had done more of before now, but at the same time, I'm so excited that I get to do it with you and your mom.
Someday, after all of this traveling is past us, we hope you look back on this picture and all the others and have the same smile on your face knowing that you are who you are because of where you've been, and that sits just fine with you.
Love you sweetheart,
Happy Fathers Day to the best guy we know. We love you to the end of the earth and back again. .
