Love God, Love people, the end. Coming to the end of this trip brings me back to the first few days in Turkana with @tanya.gural who is the taker of these photos. This will undoubtably be one of my most memorable trips, bc it wasn’t merely a traveling adventure, it was a trip with a purpose & one that I’ve learned so much from. ❤️ 🌍 Africa, you have my heart.

The @dswt in Nairobi is an elephant orphanage that rescues and rehabilitates elephants. The babies become orphaned for various reasons; their mothers are killed by poachers or die from starvation and they’re found still clinging to their mother’s lifeless body.
One buba got her trunk caught in a snare and it was almost chopped clean off! The elephant vets sewed it back on but she managed to rip her stitches. Now her trunk is healing well and she has learnt to use it for play and drink despite her disability. Let’s just say she’s a messy drinker.
When they first started saving these kindred souls, they weren’t sure what milk formula to give them. As you can imagine, milking a wild elephant is an impossible task. They tried every formula they could find, except for one, and hundreds of babies sadly died. The winning formula? It’s the one quite literally under our noses – human!
You can adopt an elephant for R650 a year and they’ll send you regular updates and tell you exactly what your donation goes toward. This was a super special experience (minus the hoards of inconsiderate idiots I had to physically push out of the way so I could get a pet and a pic). // 🇰🇪 ___________
Take me around the world👝✈ .
It doesn't me take more than a few minutes to pack a bag for a trip. I totally love traveling like that.
Let's play a game though, 👉state where you'd love to travel to next
👉the next person comments a location with the last letter of the previous comment. .
E.g I comment first with Kano, next person can type Oxford😁
The goal is to have fun💞

Masai roadblock - one of 3- on the way to Masai Mara. Note the machete in the side pocket! Needed to pay a fee at each. The road was very challenging and not for the feint of heart! Road only passable for four-way drives. What an adventure!! #travelKenya#senior travels#travel massive#joannesjourneys
Aberdare National Park, Kenya. My closest encounter to a hyena! He was huge! Earlier, at The Ark- the hotel with a viewing platform, we witnessed 3 hyenas trying to separate a baby water buffalo from the herd. We all breathed a sigh of relief when the hyenas were unsuccessful! #travelKenya#aberdare Park #senior travels#travelmassive#joannesjourneys
