This week, I have been given the opportunity to be a part of BIARI in which researchers all over the world come together to discuss humanitarian initiatives. Grateful for this beautiful experience, meeting people with so much knowledge and expertise, yet so much heart for those who are in need. #BIARIExperience#AngelesPampangaPh#TeamUST
how to navigate [ travel ] without blowing your health and fitness goals.
Traveling used to be a situation that I both loved and dreaded.
I loved the opportunity to explore a new place and the break I would get from my rigid diet plan. It was a time for me to let loose and eat things I loved again.
But I dreaded it because it meant that I was definitely going to fall of my diet and I knew the guilt and shame I would feel upon returning home from the trip.
I had no concept of balance and in my mind there was no place between rigid diet adherence and losing control. I had to choose one or the other and traveling was a time to be enjoyed so I always chose to lose all control.
When I decided to make a commitment to my health and find a more sustainable way to reach my goals, I knew there had to be another way. A middle ground. I decided to be very intentional about finding a way that worked for me to navigate traveling.
And I really feel like I’ve found it. A way to enjoy traveling without blowing all of my goals.
Here are my TOP TIPS for navigating traveling with success.
ONE: HAVE A PLAN - Before the trip even starts come up with a game plan for how you want to handle eating and exercising. Decide if you want to pack some food, eat out, or a combination. Also, decided if you are going to workout or use the time for your body to rest.
TWO: BE FLEXIBLE - Having a plan ahead of time is great, but not everything always goes according to plan. If you can’t eat or workout like you were aiming for, realize it is going to be okay. Do your best, but be willing to adjust.
THREE: NO GUILT - No matter what happens. Even if you overindulge or don’t workout at all, guilt has no place during or after your trip. There is no benefit to allowing guilt into your relationship with food. Accept what has happened and move on.
FOUR: GET BACK ON TRACK - When you get home, get right back to your normal routine. Don’t let your travel spiral off into a whole month of overindulging. If you get right back to your regular habits, in a few days/weeks your body will adjust back to where it was before. Trust the process.
What approach do you like to take when traveling?
It remains a struggle…
I really enjoy traveling for work.❤️
We have worked for months on this Indian Summer course.💪🏻⭐️
As co-coordinator I feel the excitement and adrenaline to make this week a success.🤩
And I cannot wait until I am in beautiful Rome.❤️❤️❤️
But the downside is a week without my superheroes.😓
Two weeks in advance i start with preparing them because a week is long…
I know they will have a great week and me too.💪🏻⭐️
It will be harder for me than for them ...
So another week to Rome I look forward but this week my heroes are getting the extra cuddles.😂❤️

Rain or shine, hot or cold, wind or calm, we'll get our systems installed no matter the conditions. This monitoring system was installed in Taiwan at a power plant to measure slope movement above the power plant.
It was my first time in #Boston and I didn’t really get to see the city except from the über rides and office windows (beautiful btw) but next time ... I didn’t even get to go to the #Converse office :-( (circled in red) but of course I wore my converse while traveling.
