Ask not for lighter burdens but for broader shoulders. 💪🏻
Love a good arm and shoulder workout! Nothing feels better then having develop toned, shapely shoulders & Arms to rock your tanks or sleeveless shirts. (Yes I realize we’re in the middle of December but in San Diego it’s acceptable to wear sleeveless shirts all year round, plus a toned shoulder muscle may put a little pep in your sleeveless step.)
I like doing over head squats because they one help with shoulder and core strength but also they help with mobility. Lifted at my home gym this morning and it was nice and quiet I did get asked if I was going for miss universe or something 🤣 my response, do you think I could win? 🤣🤣🤣
Cardio tonight and the just tomorrows 2 and rest time for me. I am going to make sure to get on my mat and do some flows because it helps to loosen me up after a long week of building muscles.

While in yoga class today, I decided to reflect on my year. By the end, I was just completely overtaken by a sense of inner peace. Truly an amazing feeling.
I can honestly say that 2018 was one of the, if not the single most, best years of my adult life.
I was able to see the end of some previous rocky years. I took an amazing trip to New Orleans, where I stayed in the French Quarter and floated around the swamps looking for alligators. I was able to soak in the WrestleMania weekend experience; a dream come true. My big brother would have loved it. I auditioned for #Survivor for the 6th time. I bought a brand new vehicle....with cash. I decided to stop being a bitch and applied for nursing school. #FuturePediatricNurse . I also fell in love with yoga: which has reminded me to remain calm in stressful situations and to just breathe.
I am leaving 2018 a much more self-aware and confident individual. 2018 was a warmup. It was a reminder of everything I am capable of. In 2019, I will be a fucking savage. I will continue to accomplish goals, love harder, be kinder, and just evolve to the best possible version of myself. #Namaste .
Pushing some heavy weight!! Really proud of my boy @chimongolo , when he started here 4 months ago, he had hardly any strength in his legs and performing any leg exercise was awful for him.
Flash forward 120 days later and my man is lifting 145 lbs on the Deadlift for 8 reps!
Talk about strength gains. “Dan the Man” is a real killer and he deserves a shout out for all his hard work!
To more gains my brother ❤️🙌

I went to check my Instagram feed just now and 100% thought I posted this this morning 🤦🏽♀️ thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!
Early morning workout session in front of our Christmas tree because my workout didn’t need equipment in the gym (and the dogs can be left out and I don’t have to venture out into the cold). Strength:
Weighted push ups
(Honestly my upper body strength sucks right now so instead of adding weight I just did strict push ups - not scaled so not on my knees. I was shocked how well I held up!)
15 min AMRAP
25 air squats
Completed 3 total rounds and 20 air squats
I’m doing these #CrossFit workouts every other day, slowly getting back into lifting is a process and not one to just jump back into after just marathon training for months. For anyone who is also making this transition, don’t beat yourself up (like I do) if you can’t do the same things or lift like you used to. Slowly incorporate more things into your days, for me it’s every other day so I’m not burning myself out but I’m also ensuring I am doing cardio on my off days (either walking or running). I want to get into the pool, but I need a new one piece swimsuit!
December 13th. I am grateful for my body. 40 weeks➡️3 weeks pp➡️1 year pp➡️Almost 3 years pp. My body carried our beautiful daughter for 40 weeks, it nourished our daughter for a little over 2 years, and it has transformed so much over the past 3 1/2 years, from June 2015 to December 2018. And from the third picture to now I have become so much stronger. I am a strong, fit mama and I am so proud of myself and love what I have been able to do with my body. I only plan to get stronger from here.
another @cleancooking amazing recipe.
NUT BUTTER LOVE CUPS
Ingredients: (makes approximately 12 love cups)
For the base:
1 cup raw cashews
2 Tbs almond nut butter
8 fresh medjool dates, stones removed
½ cup L.S.A. (ground mix of linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds)
For the chia jam…
1 cup frozen raspberries
2 Tbs maple syrup, or rice malt syrup if you prefer
1 tsp lemon juice
2 Tbs chia seeds
For the salted chocolate topping…
¼ cup maple syrup, or rice malt syrup if you prefer
2 Tbs coconut oil, melted
1 Tbs cacao butter, melted
3 Tbs cacao powder
1 Tbs Himalayan mineral salt flakes
Prepare the base first by whizzing all the base ingredients in a food processor. Blitz until you get a nice sticky dough.
Divide the mixture into small silicone muffin trays and press into the moulds. Gently press your thumb in the middle of each mould to form a little well that the jam can snuggle into. Set aside in the fridge to set.
Prepare the chia jam by blending the berries, syrup and lemon juice. Lastly, stir through the chia seeds and place in the fridge for 20 minutes to set and form a “jam” consistency.
Lastly, prepare the chocolate topping by whisking together all the ingredients apart from the salt.
Remove the bases, and the jam from the fridge and build the cups as you go. First a dollop of jam, followed by the chocolate and finished with a dusting of salt.
Keep in the fridge or freezer for up to 6 weeks until you are ready for the magic.
These are quite rich and satisfying, so one is usually (emphasis on usually) enough.
