Today was a cardio day at the gym. This program I’m on is killer. Today’s was called chisel cardio and 15 minute glute chisel! 🙌🏼 it’s hard but great too! Some moves are a tad hard just cause I don’t have the balance in my knees yet (ex. Split squats with exercise ball ).....I didn’t give up though! I kept pushing!💪🏼 -
These are a few of what I did. I’m normally a make my own workout kind of person but shocking your body with other stuff (like this program) helps you not plateau! 😊list below of what I did on the cardio part.....some are shown, some are not! Do 1 minute each then a 1 minute break and repeat :) (glute workout not shown or listed!) -
-over the top or bench jump over
-kettle bell swing
-forearm plank kick
-side step up kick
-split squat with exercise ball
Opening day 2018 at Delmar! It's been a fun tradition to make a day of getting dressed in hats, rallying the friends, and betting on horses if that's your thing. After party at L'Auberge is a must!
Here's a thought on being an athlete girl trapped in a sometimes elegant sometimes tomboy body....it confuses people like "who is she really" .
Serious female athletes can be a hard nut to crack ..takes a while to break through and be accepted and respected. I know sometimes the competitive nature is strong or perhaps it's just different lifestyles with different priorities.
I look up to so many cool athlete chicks who have been moms, working women, entraprneurs, and somehow manage to fit the athlete category in there. It can feel amazing to fully embrace both your athlete and your feminine self in all aspects of life. .
My point is, you don't have to lose your feminine touch or girl life just because you kick butt athletically and can hold your own with the guys-
Cheers to eyelash curlers, redlipstick and carbon fiber bikes and lots and lots of sweaty hard workouts!!💋💋
Things most think are gross:
Talking about money 💰 .
Things I’m going to do:
Talk about money 💰 .
I read the most SPOT ON 🎯 thing today, “we love money, hate money, obsess over money, ignore money, resent money, hoard money, crave money, bad-mouth money; money is rife with so much desire and shame and weirdness it’s a wonder we can utter the word above a whisper, let alone joyfully take in it.”
Why is money so weird? Why do we all have such a complex relationship with it. If we aren’t making it, we tell EVERYONE, “Dude, I’m so broke.” But if we are, don’t DARE say it out loud.
Especially women, ✖️DON’T YOU EVER SAY YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL. Why do we all believe this lie? It’s like the socially acceptable thing women do when they are around each other and they all say, “ Ugh, I need to lose 5 pounds.” But if you said, “ Man, I’m feeling really great about my body.” They would all look at you with disgust🤮. *That’s a whole different post for a different time😜.
I’m here to tell you being successful is cool 😎. I want to break the mold. I used to pride myself on being broke, everything I owned fit in my pickup truck and I once lived in a shed with no running water. Totally cool, right?! So is having money. And goals. I told my shed story for SO MANY YEARS with pride, and today when I was chatting with a girlfriend about my paycheck (it’s pay day in coach land🧚♀️) I didn’t want to tell her what I made. It embarrassed me🙄 because it was a lot. And then I read that quote and was like BOOM💥 .
So I’m here. Saying I made money 💰. For putting my story out there on social media and taking selfies and being real AF🤳 and helping people. And I’m pretty freaking stoked about it🤙.
All this rain lately calls for bright pink rain boots to keep this ridiculously sticky mud off good shoes!😂 I could have gotten black but why not stick out?
I have been wanting to go on a run every night but it’s been to rainy lately when it cools off and when it gets darks I don’t want to be dodging the pack of coyotes trying to get our pups every night! 🤨 So instead, we have been playing with the doggies and taking walks around the property to ensure we get our steps in!😊 The main reason I want to run is because I miss it! I use to do at least 3 miles a day but then my knees got so bad they’d dislocate just running in a straight line, but now I’m fixed and want to start putting it in my day. 🏃🏻♀️ running is peaceful and a stress release for me. I put my music in and just go. Do you like to run? .
