So I had a near death experience this morning* (*not actually near to death at all thankfully but allow me to explain...) After a standard hectic morning of getting 3 kids washed, dressed, breakfasts and dispatched to various locations accordingly, I finally get into the car alone, breathless and a little dishevelled, drive down the road to meet the rush hour traffic. All good at this point until I feel a numbness and tingling in my left arm, I'm pale (Northern Irish and haven't fake tanned in days), breathless (Just ran across a large carpark and back with a combined 20tonne baby/carseat combo) and minutes later my frikkin left arm is going all funny... Jesus I'm going into cardiac arrest!
1st thoughts aside from the enormity of leaving my family without me...
1- I'm fairly fit, youngish and eat mostly healthy, this isn't bloody fair!
2- is the house tidy? If it's my end, have I left any knickers on the bathroom floor?! 3- should I jump out of the car for help or would causing a scene be socially unacceptable?
All this in a space of just a few seconds until I try and feel my pulse to realise that no, it's not a heart attack it's a bout of STUPIDITY as somewhere in the chaos of getting ready I have managed to cut off normal circulation with a hair bobble round my left bicep 🙈
No disrespect to anyone who has indeed suffered cardiac trouble as its not to be joked about but I'm flipping glad I was just in a rush and being daft!
All this joy and it wasn't even 8am yet, how's you're morning going?! #neardeathexperience#stupidity#cardiacarrest#heartattack#hairbobble#trafficchaos#morningcommute#workingmum#bloodygladistayedinthecar#newfoundappreciationforlife#howsyourdaygoing
A few of you asked about photos of Balinese life which is quite different from ours. Where to start, where to end. The daily offerings to the gods - the different fruits - scooters, the main means of transport with at least 2 persons - little shops in the streets ( with direct car parking) - the shuttle busses for tourists to a temple - the amazing traffic chaos which perfectly works - the warungs ( sidewalk snack bars) and street sellers at every corner of the road. **
**Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
The story so far.
▪Blessed to be alive and in reasonable health. ▪Last minute decision on alternative dates and destination got me to this amazing place, and a tick off the bucket list.
▪Couldn't have planned a better flight time and seats to see this sunset at 40000ft
▪Crazy $1 bus airport city bus dodging scooters.
▪Street side dinner at 1AM (actually 4AM Melbourne time) with mind blowingly tasty food and $1 beer and have the company of the restaurant cat (no such thing as food safety regulation here 🐈
▪So amazingly grateful this nugget already on work break can and wanted to share this experience with me.
▪4 hour sleep and we're ready to go again.
