He’s one of my reasons to love fall.
My other reasons would be:
🍁fresh and chilly air in the morning
🍁beautiful foliage, Canada is famous for it
I think we all have at least one good reason to love all the seasons. What is your reason to love fall, I’m sure I can add more things on my list.
(Photos: 09.16.18) Ollie checking out the fish and otters with his Auntie 💙 there’s nothing like a day at the zoo with my little man and my best friend 💙💙💙 (Side note: look at all of that drool 🤤 hahaha 😂 he’s got 3 molars and 1 canine that have all cut and are coming in, and 2 more about to cut, it’s crazy!)
International peace day🕊
Two strangers right here. Playing, dancing... chancing after each other. There’s Canadian, Korean, Italian and Irish blood... with no common language. But they laughed and played on foreign soil.
How beautiful it is to listen to children’s laughter. If only the world will be filled with children’s laughter... discrimination and hate is a learned behaviour. It’s our job to teach them love and kindness. 🕊 “It’s not our job to toughen our children up to face a cruel and heartless world. It’s our job to raise children who will make the world a little less cruel and heartless.” L.R. Knost

(Photo: 09.14.18) This was so funny, he was trying to carefully select his favorite leaves lol 😂 I always wonder what his criteria are; he’s so selective and will sometimes throw one down in disgust and choose another hahaha 😂😂😂
❤️❤️INTRODUCING SORTING💛💛 5 second pause to say Happy Birthday to our little Matt - officially 2 🎂 I guess this means he’s no longer a “taby” 😭 But that’s ok 👊🏻 Welcome to officially being a “Busy Toddler” Matt ‼️😂 This pic was actually taken when Matt was still 23 months old 🤷🏻♀️ and I wanted to take a minute to sit with him and introduce the concept of sorting in a more purposeful and direct way than just letting him discover on his own 🙌🏻 It’s all about having a balance of kid-led and parent/teacher-led learning 😉 Sorting is MY FAVORITE 🎉 When a child is sorting, they are analyzing data, making decisions, and organizing by attributes ⭐️ As our kids grow, they’ll use sorting in language arts, math, science - this one little skill ends up being a critical one 💜 I started Matt with a very simple color sort❤️💛 I put up two pieces of construction paper and counted out 8 post-it notes (4 per color) 👍🏻 I picked colors that are REALLY different (not like pink and red) 😅 I showed him first “Matt, we are going to sort. Let’s put all the red here, and all the yellow here.” I showed him with one Post-it of each 👀 Then I put those Post-its back and said “Now it’s Matt’s turn. Sort red and yellow.” 🎉 The vocabulary word “sort” is new to him right now but he’ll pick it up as we do more and more of these activities 🙌🏻 Quick intro to sorting tips: 1️⃣ You can give this activity a go any time, any age and see what happens - try at a time that’s right for you and your kiddo (Kate could do this at 16 months old) 2️⃣ Use only two groups for sorting and keep it small to start 3️⃣ Don’t always sort by color or kids start to think that’s the only way to do it 🤷🏻♀️ Sorting is an AMAZING skill to develop - can’t believe this Busy Toddler is already working on it 😭👍🏻❤️
These photos were brought to you by fall being around the corner 🍁🍃🍂. .

What’s everyone up to this weekend? N has dance then starts drama at @ypttoronto, then we have her second Birthday party on Sunday, so I’ve been busy organizing that. Phew! I’m already tired 😴
