We are so touched to present the #SelahStories Series, where supporters and visitors of Selah Carefarm outside of Sedona, Arizona, share their stories of grief, loss and healing. In this video, Terri has graciously contributed to our campaign with her journey upstream since the loss of her beloved daughter Misty, and shares her love of Selah Carefarm. Donate today and help us build Selah House and Carefarm sanctuary in honor of your beloved [link in bio].
Daddy’s expression almost looks he’s about to do something that he’s not supposed to. 😅
We had our first breakfast in Singapore at this coffee shop. Today he had his last breakfast at the same place. He ordered the same items: 5 eggs and 4 pieces of kaya butter toast. Not forgetting his favorite Kopi C Kosong Peng, which he’s totally pro at saying now.
Peanut Butter Pretzel Cups are my ultimate treat. I make a batch and stash them in freezer — sharing very little 🙈 (don’t tell my kids!), for when I need a two-bite hit of my fav flavours. I mixed dark chocolate with semi-sweet to cut the richness and I added crushed pretzels on top for a touch of added saltiness that 💯 compliments the PB and chocolate. Make a batch for yourself. If you have more willpower then this sucker (me) then park a batch in the freezer as a solid holiday no bake gift or treat everyone’s gonna love.

Picture from the beginning of our Singapore vacation. D is happy to give everyone fist bumps (when he’s in the mood), including the Green Lantern!
We are supposed to leave Singapore in less than 24 hours, but there has been a change of plans. D and I will be extending our stay, while Daddy leaves as planned. I’m excited that we are staying longer, but worried about being on my own with D, especially on the long flight.
I guess it’s a good thing that both of us are not getting on the long flight home because we’re sick. I’ve been feeling under the weather for a few days now. D has been having a stuffy nose, and it seems to be getting worse. He’s been waking up to fuss and cry the last few nights. Fortunately, Daddy is fine. Fingers crossed!🤞🏻
For those of you who don’t know (or may need a bit of reminding 😉), I sometimes offer family photography sessions. Maternity, newborns, older babies & toddler, siblings, grandparents, couples ... just to name a few. I have been really inconsistent with updating some of the work I’ve been doing, but I’m going to try and be better about sharing those sessions. I have quite a few from the last year I’ll be sharing in the upcoming weeks + Christmas sessions as well. If you’re interested, please DM me. And check out my stories for my latest family + baby session! Xo 😘
“We’re all mad here.”💜😸 how cute are our girls dressed as Alice and the Cheshire Cat?! One of the best parts of having kids is dressing them up, right?😅
*Aria’s dress is actually a Cinderella dress from @shopdisney, but add a black bow and viola, Alice in Wonderland💙 & Paisley’s costume and cat ears are from @savers_thrift *photo edit done by @moments_by_madeline #happiestmomsonearth#disneybound
This girl is home today with a fever...but it doesn't stop her from being silly and active. Kindergarten bugs are not fun. 🤧😷
Essa fofinha está em casa hoje com um pouco de febre, mas isso não é motivo pra ela deixar de ser alegre e ativa. Essas perebas que elas pegam na a escola não são nada legais... 🤧😷
“I just like to smile. Smiling’s my favourite!” 😄😍🥰 Can you even handle this cutie?! His smile is so contagious. I had a blast this weekend at my holiday mini sessions. What a perfect day! Can’t wait to share more. ☺️🌲 #youbymia#holidayminisession#middletontreefarm

I once breastfed Eloise in this change room outside of Theo’s dance class when a woman walked by, stopped, and stared.
She didn’t realize Eloise was latched on (I was wearing a scarf) and she said this:
“Aww, so cute. Are you looking after her?”
It was only after some clarification and her embarrassed response that I realized what really happened.
She did not think and could not expect that I was Eloise’s mother.
Maybe it’s because I look younger than I am. Or because people don’t expect that the size of my hips could carry the weight of a child, let alone birth one. Or simply, because Eloise has blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. And I am so clearly Asian.
This happened weeks ago and I decided not to share it when it happened. I had to sit with it. And I realized I just really wanted it to be an innocent mistake. Maybe it was the context of the situation that confused the stranger— I mean, why is there an infant in a gym locker room?
But I know this won’t be the last time something like this will happen. And surely there will be racial undertones to stranger’s comments. People will assume I’m the nanny. People will passive-aggressively ask about the father (“You’re so fair! You must take after daddy!” - someone actually said this to Eloise in a store). People mean well, I know. I appreciate it when strangers stop to say hi.
But come on, folks. We live in southern Ontario, Canada. Mixed race families are everywhere. Yes, genetics are strange and interesting— I mean, how are all these recessive genes being expressed? But surely we can all learn to accept and appreciate all the different ways a parent and child can look like one another, or not at all.
Let’s try a little harder not to stereotype, and not to alienate a parent or question a child’s racial identity upon first glance, shall we? We all just want to be seen as individuals, worthy of common decency. ✌️
I’ve saved all my 🍂 10x10 looks in my Stories.
This was the first weekend in over a month that we didn’t have multiple set plans. I tend to keep our schedule full and not slow down, which I truly love staying busy but in turn it can burn me out at times. This weekend was good for the soul, quality time with the four of us. Today we finished the kids play house for Winsome Rose‘s first (early) birthday present from her mama and dada. While both babies napped I enjoyed painting some of our favorite treasures that God created to make nature beautiful and it’s safe to say that this girl loved it! Hopefully you guys won’t get sick of seeing it because I am pretty sure we are going to be living outside these next few months🌲🍄🌙🍂💐✨🌈🐞🦋
Both girls got mini Christmas trees in their bedrooms that they were allowed to decorate anyway they wanted. Which is great because I have no interest in compromising my beautiful, traditional Christmas tree decor for their colourful Disney and homemade ornaments. Some things you do not compromise for children.
we’re at our local Disney Store for their daily #openingceremony ❤️ this is a fun way to experience that Disney magic when you’re unable to be at the parks! Contact your local store for their specific details🙂 have you ever been to a Disney Store opening ceremony? Check out our story for more on this fun experience!
