You may have noticed Christie Pits has been disassembled for the season but that just means it's time for us to move indoors! The free Fall drop-in program at Jimmie Simpson Rec Centre will run for the next 10 weeks, starting this Wed, Oct 17th, and is ongoing Weds (3-6pm) and Sats (10-2pm). #Toronto#TorontoSkateboarding#JimmySimpson
My life has changed drastically in the last 2 years. I went from a place of scarcity to a place of abundance, and at the core of that is gratitude for every step the led to the present moment.
I don’t think that anyone can be happy all the time, but I do believe we can be grateful at all times. When I focus on things that I am thankful for, I see how the negatives pale in comparison. Certainly bad things happen—sadness, anger, insecurity, pain—and we can sometimes be enveloped by negative emotions. The thing that carries me through is a spirit of appreciation, and a reverence for the enormity of existence and the privilege of being alive, to experience these highs and lows.
I am thankful for so many things, and so many people. I am thankful to all of you reading this, everyone who has believed in what we are doing, everyone who has supported us with their words, their time, their sweat. We are all in this life together, and it’s only together that we can move forward in making this world what it could and should be.
Today and every day, Happy Thanksgiving.
After around 2 years of constant ankle injuries which today are still not completely resolved, I’ve kept having to relearn switch heels over and over again. I may never get them as consistent or clean or as fast as I once had them, but I’m just happy I am able to skate despite injuries.
