Since I just haven't had the time, or motivation, to pull out my tree and all the decorations, this is going to be our tree this year!! We sell them @traderjoes and I've always wanted one but it just didn't match my holiday decor, so this was the perfect opportunity to get one!! They're just the cutest!! Now, how to keep the cat from attacking it's lone ornament?! #grumptree#traderjoes#ourtreethisyear#notimetodecorate#alwayswantedone#toocute
Our aquatic aviary just got a little more crowded. Our White Pelican patient has been spoiled having the aquatic aviary pool all to himself. This weekend three Canada Geese have upgraded to the pool room too, so now the Pelican has to share. So far everyone is getting along, as long as they can have a little bit of their own space around the pool.
After going to the vet for a full workup, we did unfortunately find out that the Pelican is non-releasable. He has already started to develop arthritis in his left elbow from whatever had originally happened to that wing. There is very limited range of motion in that wing, so he will have to have that monitored closely for the rest of his life. Our staff is working hard to find a fitting permanent home for him.
The Canada Geese all came in separately from different locations. One had spinal trauma from unknown reasons and was not standing on admission. The other two came to us in critical condition after being shot (it is/was legal season on geese) and were also not standing on admission. After medication, fluids, rest, some physical therapy and being closely monitored by our staff the geese all slowly made improvements. It was time they could all have more space and pool to encourage more normal behavior, including having buddies while in a rehabilitation setting. We do hope to release the geese once they have fully recovered.
All these species are flocking species and very social, so we’re glad they are getting along and enjoying each other’s company in our pool room!
So both my son and daughter do cheerleading. My son however is the only boy in a club of way over 100 girls. He likes to dance. Doesn’t say anything about his character except he enjoys dancing and being around girls, a smart move in my opinion. He hasn’t told his friends at school he does cheerleading despite being there a year. Last night he won cheerleader of the year. I had to ask his permission to post this as he’s kept it a secret for so long. I wish he didn’t feel like he had to hide his hobbies from his peers. I am proud of him and all my children for everything they do. Whatever makes them happy makes me happy. #proudmum#cheerleader#boycheerleader#beproudson#cheerleaderoftheyear#dancer#sons#toocute#lovethem#parenting#familyof7#steriotypes
