IN THE PINK, Dawnridge Estate. Beverly Hills. As I’m sure you all know Dawnridge was owned by fearless maximalist and legendary set designer Tony Duquette. This bedroom is definitely more restrained than other rooms on the property with only two prevailing colours, pink and green, and a Chinoiserie theme. I personally favor “a less is more” approach to interiors but I hugely admire such a vibrant and dramatic personal style. This is a repost from fellow textile designer @schuylersamperton who I know loves pink like I do. #interiordesign#tonyduquette#pink#pinkbedroom#interiordesigner#decoracao#decoracion#decorazioni#bebold#colour
I’ve been obsessed with shells forever. To me they are jewels . One of my favourite things to do is collect them from remote places. I don’t do this anymore for obvious reasons. Books like #tonyduquette ’s “more is more” have inspired me enormously in his use of shells. This sleeping mermaid is @milla.finlay who napped while I played. I made the box in last pic with some of my collection. 💕💕💕#nonismithmakeup#happyplace
Here’s me wearing a super special coral necklace. Hollywood decorator Tony Duquette (1914-1999) created sets for movies, costumes, crazy magical interiors, and boldly scaled jewelry for the duchess of Windsor, Sharon Stone and the fashion houses of Gucci and Balmain. Malachite and coral were his favorite materials. This 2.6 meter long necklace has 281 faceted (!) beads in different sizes. A stunner, acquired at an auction of the estate of Duquette’s good friend, the individual style icon Dodie Rosekrans. #stunning#luckyme#style

Stopped to visit longtime friend @patsaling #onetofollow today and was mesmerized by this emerald-covered Belperron gold box, complete with gold lizard slipcase (photo 2), a beautiful and unusual ruby and diamond ring by JAR (Photos 3 and 4) and a Tony Duquette necklace owned by Dodie Rosekrans (photo 5) whose Michael Taylor-designed San Francisco house we covered last year, I think. For those of us who don’t know, Pat was Murray Mondschein/ Fred Leighton’s right hand for decades, before going out on her own, and has a salon filled with treasures. Be sure to follow her to see glimpses of her amazing inventory! #patsaling#jewels#belperron#tonyduquette#dodierosekrans
