I am very happy with the way this prompt from @hand.lettered.and.loved turned out. (Ignore the way the last letter seems cut off with a white smudge. I tried to flourish it, but it didn't go well, so I used white out instead of starting all over.) Tonight I learned using the right paper is sometimes as important as using the right pen and technique. I usually do these on a marker pad, but the blending technique looks smudged and messy. Tonight I used mixed media paper, and it turned out much cleaner. I was going to include a picture of the one on the marker pad, but it looked really awful. #handletteredandloved#handlettering#moderncalligraphy#leftyletterer#leftylettering#colorblending#tombowdualbrushpens#dailypractice

Sliding in just in time for today's #chooseselfcompassion post!
One of the strongest defenses we have against negative self-talk is being grounded in our values. Standing for our values gives us the ammunition to shut down self-criticism—instead of wallowing in our "failures", we can ask ourselves, "Did I do my best given what is important to me?" "Does this align with what I value?" If it doesn't, it's an invitation to let go. @yourhappyhealthyrd
Little scribble using some of my @tombow_id dual brush markers! I'm having lots of fun with them. I was thinking of doing an illustration like this one each time I treat myself to a new colour to make kind of like an illustrated swatch book, what do you think?? 💚💚💚
