If you didn’t catch my stories yesterday, I’m working on a breakfast cookbook (ebook). It’s going to filled with exclusive recipes that can’t be found on my website or Instagram. I don’t have a solid release date yet but it will definitely be some time in 2019! •
breakfast: gluten free sour dough with mashed avo + cilantro + salt and pepper + hemp seeds + pastured boiled eggs
Turning up on a Tuesday with turnip fries because they're so freaking good -- especially paired with my 3-ingredient Greek yogurt ranch dip. 🍟🍟🍟
Turnips are nutrient-dense, loaded with fiber and have significantly less carbs and cals than potatoes. Plus these babes are baked with just a little avo oil + seasonings so they're relatively light when it comes to fries. Grab the recipe via the link in my profile and let me know if you try them!
I can't believe it's almost time for the girls to head back to school, there is so much to do and get ready. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One thing I don't have to worry about is them getting a good breakfast because even on the busiest mornings we have a plan. This Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowl Made Good is just one of them!
Yes chocolate for breakfast that's kid and mom approved and packed with nutrition and veggies! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Topping our Brownie Batter Smoothie Bowls with @madegoodfoods Chocolate Chip Granola Minis or pairing the grab and go Brownie Batter Smoothie version with them I know it's a great start to the day and will fuel them until lunch time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@MadeGoodfoods Chocolate Chip Granola Minis are organic, gluten-free (top 8 allergen free), non-GMO project verified and contain the nutrients in one full serving of vegetables. They just happen to be on the of the girls favorite snacks too. Perfect for packing in their backpacks for a quick after school snack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Head to Stories to check out the smoothie version and swipe to the recipes, or find the recipe link in my profile. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
i love a good sandwich smoooooosh, especially to showcase the B. Franklin sammie from @tempestamarket . Every sandwich here is literally a dream... please go try them!!! #notanad#justinlove#snackingwithshan
life has been BUSY but i’m back ☺️
i started feeling like i was drowning last week from all the things i put on my plate
i completely broke down—absolutely lost it. i’m talking full on ugly kim k crying for an hour
i had to take a step back and remind myself of all my whys: why i started this account, why i trained to be a barre teacher, why i enjoy going to my full-time job every day
it took finding my purpose again to realize that everything is amazing and it will all be ok, even if this seems like the most overwhelming chapter of my life so far
it’s just that, a chapter. not the whole book 📖
this is just a reminder that no matter how put together or perfect someone’s life appears through a screen, it’s only part of their story 💛
green smoothie bowl with @lovegrown cereal, cashew butter, frozen blueberries, chocolate covered chia seeds, and 100% cacao discs!
I had an epic leg day at the gym this morning 😏 so naturally i'm hungry for ALL THE FOOD. Starting with avocado toast ✌ ways 1 with sliced 🥑 + tomatoes + honey + everything but the bagel seasoning and 1 with SMASHED 🥑 + everything but the bagel seasoning. I can't decide which I liked more 🤷♀️ #sailorbailey #🥑
Sticking with a classic on this beautiful #toasttuesday morning. What can I say, I’m a basic B 🤷♀️💁♀️

(tr asagida) had one of my favorite savory breakfasts today, a folded omelette/ “crepette”, with a small salad and strawberries. to get a crepe-like consistency in the folded omelette, i blend 2 eggs with a tablespoon of almond milk and a pinch of salt, then cook in ghee 🍳

Currently sipping some tea at my desk and wishing I had a slice of this to go with it. ☕️ This BANANA BLUEBERRY SKILLET BREAD has the fluffiest texture (swipe 👉🏼 to see) and I’m in love with the tart blueberry bursts!

Back on my weekday grind with one of my favorite breakfasts: some citrus fruit (grapefruit) with a piece of homemade @mynewroots bread topped with @georgiagrinders pecan butter, @thrivemkt coconut butter, frozen blueberries, and @wedderspoonofficial honey. What’s your favorite go-to?
Here’s the thing. When you’re working out, especially when you’re strength training and pushing your body and building muscle, your metabolism is going to spike and you’ll need to eat MORE food to fuel your body.
Yesterday I was a ravenous beast so today I doubled my breakfast portions (and I know I’ll need a smoothie before lunch). I’ve found that for me, the more I front-load my day with food and eat more in the morning, the happier my energy and blood sugar is.
Sprouted toast, PB, banana and eggs = fave combo. I also had a date with PB, preworkout, and a recovery smoothie before and after my workout because today was a back and biceps circuit and it slays me.
Whether your goals are to lose 10 lbs, run a marathon, complete your yoga certification, get pregnant, or anything in between, listen to your own body and make adjustments to “the plan” based on what YOU need.
You’ll have more fun along the way and dare I say better results too? :)
Are you training for anything big or fun right now? Or do you have a goal on your 2018 bucket list that you haven’t cracked yet? Let me know what you’re working towards! ⬇️⬇️⬇️
With school around the corner, I know many of you are looking for easy meal ideas! This granola is a family favorite. It’s not only quick & easy to make, but pretty low in sugar compared to many grocery store brands!
Emily & I like to eat it on top of plain yogurt with berries for a quick breakfast or snack 🍓🍓🍓 And as a bonus, it’s easy enough for Emily to almost make in her own! #MomWin 😊 Check out the recipe 👇🏻

1 cup chopped nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 cup maple syrup (or honey)

First up on today’s agenda: inhaling this simple (but flavorful ) toast. 👆🤤 Then I’m going allll the things done while the kiddies are at school. 💪
WHAT WENT DOWN:
• @canyonglutenfree heritage toast
• creamy PB
• @driscollsberry blueberries
• fresh lemon zest 🍋
• not pictured: my matcha-collagen latte (where I get most of my protein from when I eat toast) 🍵
Have the best Tuesday, lovelies! 🤗
Carrot cake cauli oats hitting the SPOT this morning 😍 Taking a new twist in one of my favorite breakfast bowls!! 🥕
If you watched my stories yesterday you know it was a pretty “meh” day. And it’s funny because I still got a lot done - I posted a recipe, I shot some photo of another recipe for the blog, I went to the grocery store, answered emails, etc. yet I felt so unfulfilled. And it’s crazy to me because days like that used to fill me UP.
And it truly made me realize how far I’ve come as a workaholic. I’ll be the first to admit that I used to be, 100%, a workaholic. There’s no sugar coating it 🤷🏼♀️ I’d prioritize getting sh*t done, especially for the blog, above almost all else. But the more I’ve spent time fostering my friendships this summer, the more I realize being a workaholic is a downright sad way to live.
I know it’s a simple concept and may seem silly to some, but as an introvert I never thought I needed that much “friend time” to be happy - I was happy all on my own. And as much as I still cherish and desperately need alone time, I’ve really embraced how beautiful true friendships and connections are. I’ve FINALLY realized that life is to be LIVED and the only way to do that is to embrace time spent with your people 💛 okay enough rambling, on to the eats!!
Taking today to remind myself that I am in control of how my days go and how I see my situation ☺️ So here’s to a better day and fresh starts!!
dEATS 👉🏻 1.5 cups frozen cauli rice + 1 cup shredded carrot + 1 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon + 2 Tbsp coconut flour + 1 scoop @vitalproteins vanilla coconut collagen (or any vanilla protein) + 2 tsp raw honey + a splash of liquid 👉🏻 cook the cauli rice until all the way cooked and then add all of your ingredients, stir together, top and enjoy!
One of my favourite breakfasts in Ottawa- I always struggle with what to order though because everything is so good!! Ham and cheese omelette won this time (and my brother let me steal some of his chocolate pancakes so best of both worlds😉)
How do you turn your brain off to relax when there is so much to do?⠀
To be honest, lately I have been feeling like I'm drowning. I'm working so hard to grow my business and with a never ending to do list, it is hard to actually take time to relax and just CHILL.⠀
Even at home, so much of our discussions are business related, it's really hard to shut that part of my brain down. And then when I do, I feel guilty for sitting down and watching Netflix when I *should* be doing X, Y, or Z. ⠀
Just putting this out there to let you know that if you feel this way, you're not alone. ❤️⠀
