📺Chronological Clone Wars #4 - Season 3 Episode 1: "Clone Cadets"
"Brothers in arms are brothers for life."
Five headstrong clones struggle to complete their training on Kamino. These cadets – Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Fives and Echo – seem to be a "bad batch" and are unable to work as a team. As Shaak Ti and drill instructors Bric and El-Les debate the cadets' fate, the clones learn to work together and accept their destiny as soldiers.
So this episode was amazing. It's my third time watching it and it never gets old!! It is the beginning of ARC troopers, Echo and Fives' journey. It shows that not all clones were made with the natural gift of war. Some clones developed the skills slower than others, and I think it is a waste of clones to just give up on them after a while. Fives and Echo started by passing after they were given a second chance, and went on the be some of the Republic's best men out there. Something I love about Star Wars, and I know I've said it a bunch of times, but I love how they focus on a smaller unit but it tells the bigger picture. This episode focuses on the Domino Squad, and it shows us how the clones have to train before they are put onto the battlefield, and what happens to the clones that fail. I think Filoni did a fantastic job at using a squad that wasn't too good in the beginning, but overcame that. One of my favorite scenes in this episode was where Bric, the bounty hunter hired to train clones, tried to start a fight with Cut-Up, but Cut-Up resisted. I love how when he gets his nickname, he embraces it and uses what Bric saw as his weakness, to strengthen him. It's so awesome!! Finally, I frickin love 99. He is like a big brother to the clones, mainly Hevy. Instead of showing the clones his skill, which apparently he didn't have since he was assigned to maintenance, he shows them how to work as a team, and I think that is better than how Bric teaches. So this episode was amazing, and I'll give "Clone Cadets" a 9.8/10🔥
"I want you troopers to remember, we're shoulder-to-shoulder on those front lines. Brothers! And sometimes we may quarrel, but no matter what, we are united. Rule one: we fight together." —Colt
He was an Advanced Recon Commando who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Commander of the Rancor Battalion and an advocate of unity on the battlefield, Colt was assigned to Tipoca City on Kamino to select potential ARC trooper candidates from squads of clone cadets nearing the end of their training.
Colt was still on Kamino when the Confederacy of Independent Systems launched an attack on the cloning facilities there. The ARC trooper participated in the defense of Tipoca City but was killed by the Confederate Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress.
A portion of Colt's death in the Clone Wars episode, "ARC Troopers" was removed from the aired episode. In the original scene, Ventress gave Colt a kiss on the cheek after impaling him but before deactivating her lightsaber. This modification was done at the insistence of Cartoon Network at Celebration V. However, the full scene was still present in the Dataclip summary of the episode on Cartoon Network's website, as well as on the third season's home video release.
