I havent been exercising lately because my time of the month reared its ugly head and have had cramps out the ying yang!!! .
I am going to try my hardest to start exercising again!! I have been trying to watch what I am eating but whenever it is that time of course I crave greasy and unhealthy foods. I believe this is going to end soon so I can start to be back on track. I want this so bad that my mind plays tricks on me especially during the time that I just give into those temptations of laziness and trying to make myself feel better. .
Maybe I do need better accountability then I thought. I thought I would be able to be more disciplined but I guess at this time I am not as strong as I thought I was.

Tomorrow is a new day and I NEED TO MAKE THIS ABOUT MYSELF!! But this evening I am going to stick to my reading and call it a day!!

Jury’s out on the colour of this smoothie 🤔, but I wanted chocolate 🍫 and spinach 🍃 so, it was inevitable really... I wondered whether or not I should post it but it tastes AMAZING, so I figured it’s what’s on the inside that counts 💕

Ingredients:
✔️ 40g frozen açai puree
✔️ 1/4 avocado 🥑 ✔️ 1/3 Lebanese cucumber 🥒 ✔️ 2 handfuls baby spinach 🍃 ✔️ 1/2 banana 🍌 (I used frozen)
✔️ 1 tbsp peanut butter 🥜 ✔️ 1 tbsp chia ✔️ 1 tbsp Maca powder
✔️ coconut milk 🥥 ✔️ 1 sachet Chocolate Complete
✔️ 1 tbsp raw cacao
✔️ Sprinkles: freeze dried pomegranate, chia, pepitas, lavender

Hey! A little real life for you today. I’ve always struggled with hormone imbalance and heavy periods. Yep. Girl stuff. That’s what I’m talking about today. 🤷🏻‍♀️ In April, I started a heavy menstrual cycle and it never ended. (Can we change that name? It should only be called “menstrual cycle” if men had them... 🤪) My energy has been awful. I’ve tried to train through it but my motivation has been minimal. I’ve been anemic, gaining weight, haven’t been able to sleep well... etc. I’ve checked everything and nothing is wrong other than hormone imbalance. That might sound like a bunch of excuses and something that can be easily fixed. It’s not. If you've dealt with it you're saying, ”Amen”. But the more I’ve struggled with this and talked to other women, it’s so common. And frustrating. One good friend hasn’t felt motivated in months to exercise, another had to DNF at a race due to a heavy period. Some have constant PMS symptoms. I’ve heard it all and have so much empathy for it. You wouldn’t believe how many women keep silent about this. You’re not alone! And, no, it’s not just because we’re older women and about to start menopause. I’m 38 years young. 😉 I ended up having a minor surgery last week to alleviate the constant bleeding but it wont fix my hormone imbalance. For now, I’m going to try some natural remedies. If you have ideas for me, I’d love to hear them. I won’t get to race SpeedGoat this weekend with my sister since I’m still recovering. That makes me sad. Really sad. But there will be other races and days to run hard. That’s the best advice I’ve heard through all of this. Eat healthily. Get outside to exercise. Talk to people. Do your best! I’m in awe of the women around me.  It’s incredible what women can accomplish despite these types of issues. You got this! Love you, ladies. #girlpoweryo 👊🏼

GOOD NEWS! In a few days it will all be over and you will start to feel like yourself again 😍 you will notice that your bloating will go down and your strength will come back. And if you want to.. only if you need to.. you can weigh yourself a few days later and you will notice that your weight went back to “normal.” .
. 💦 In the meantime DRINK UP (water! Lol) and don’t forget to take your cell-U- loss tablets! These are a lifesaver for me during this time! .

Being a woman owned company, I strive to make a difference & stand up for females at every given opportunity. At @whitelabelme my team can take a day off or more during their periods. Does that make me biased? HELL NO. Over the years, I have suffered a lot due to abnormal period pains which has no cure. It has gotten much better over time but still most months my first two days feel like the world is coming to an end so if I won’t understand the pain of my fellow female colleagues then shame on me for being a hypocrite. ————————————————————————-
The team have never taken the period leave policy for granted infact they have always been so grateful that they braved urgent meetings, photoshoots & end up just working from home 🙏🏼 As a LEADER have faith in your team,  LEAD WITH KINDNESS and  see what miracles people are capable of ❤️ ————————————————————————-

You know the ones where you can’t get out of bed, your stomach is in insane cramp mode, your anger is off the charts of normal and you feel ugly. There is not a single thing that took away this state today. Except for the brief trip to the grocery store where I got excited about the sales I found.

But the truth is, these days are real and they happen to all of us. And it is so easy to look back on the day and feel guilty that you yelled at this person, or didn’t play with your child enough or didn’t get out of your pyjamas. But it’s just as easy to have a shower, eat some chocolate and go to bed knowing tomorrow will be a better day.

Really weird once a month my wife gets really mad for a few days for no reason at all???
I want to put something down for the latest @endometriosis.uk #whatiwishilearned at school campaign, so here goes... I went to an all girls school and had a male science teacher. He was lovely, nerdy and friendly but the poor guy would get so embarrassed and flustered when the subject of sex or any body parts below the head was approached, that in the end he got another female teacher to come in and read from the text book while he hid the lab.

I remember reading a chapter on periods with a small group of girls around the table. It was more how they worked and why, then what to expect or what could be considered a normal period.

In hindsight, I wish that chapter had told me that the pain and bleeding I was experiencing at the time was not normal. That taking paracetamol and codeine 4 times a day just to function was not the right amount of pain for a period. That throwing up and passing out while on a period was not because I was weak or because I couldn’t handle pain, but because there was something wrong.

I wish I had been taught to listen and trust my body more so that when doctors said “you’ll grow out of it, you are just unlucky, it will get better once you have had a baby and finally that the pain was just in my head”, I could have had the courage to say “No” and that they were wrong and demand better care.

I wish I had been told about or encouraged to keep a period journal.  Some evidence of the amount of pain experienced, the amount of pain killers taken, the amount of blood shed over the amount of days etc.

Most of all I wish that I had been encouraged to talk about my periods. To friends, family and healthcare professionals. To ask them what was a normal #period for them, so I could have realised quicker that something was wrong.
