Have you ever picked up a book and felt you just couldn’t get into it? That is how I felt a year ago when I started reading The Magic.
A lot has changed in my life in the past year...and I am in a great space to embrace this book again!
As I write this message, I kind of giggle inside, thinking this may just be the perfect path for me. My top selling product is called ✨MAGIC Magnesium Cream✨ .
My biggest belief is ‘Everything happens for a reason’. When something happens, out of your control or not according to your plan...say this to yourself. Sit back, take a breath. And move forward in a different direction. The reason will present itself in time. You will be grateful for this reason, I promise you!
On those days I feel like I am running from one task to the next, I am super thankful for eyeshadow I can put on with the stroke of a finger! No brushes needed. Quick and easy is all I had time for today. Yesterday I had no time for makeup, translating to: no time for me... which makes even more thankful for a quick application of eyeshadow followed by Epic Mascara. Just taking two minutes for myself can make me feel a little more put together and alive! 🖤
Self-care to me is making myself some cream, I love the color of this one.
Ingredients: apricot oil infused with carrots, rose hip oil, local beeswax, home distilled yarrow and Queen Anne's Lace hydrosols, and a touch of aloe. 💚
Pink toe nails, reading a lovely soul-feeding book while listening to live gypsy jazz band with husband in the park... hmmm what a perfect summer Sunday evening!👌
Not all summer evenings or holidays feel as relaxing though. Holidays are wonderful and summer simply the best time of the year (at least if you ask me) but still not entirely problem-free. I find managing my expectations and needs over the holidays something to pay attention to. How do I keep connected to my soul when pulled to so many directions and surrounded by family and friends over the holidays? 🙄
I wrote a blog post on some of my experiences and thoughts on “summer stress and summer rest”.
Have a read and let me know what you think. Link to the article can be found in bio above.
How are your holidays and summertime going? .

I planned to watch the ’48 classic Key Largo at 8:00 last night. 🎥
I set a reminder on my phone, and I told myself I would power down and stop work when the movie came on. ⏰
Once the alarm went off, however, I hadn’t quite finished the project on which I was working. 💁🏻♀️
No big deal, I thought. I’ll just turn on the movie, hit pause, and then start it up in a few minutes when I finish this “one last thing.”☝️
We all know where this is going, right? 🤷🏻♀️
Those few minutes turned into 30, which morphed into 60, and before I knew it, it was 10:00 and I missed the whole thing. (It turns out, the pause doesn’t hold after the show is done🙄)
I do this all the time. I have grand plans of taking the night off, or practicing self-care, and then BOOM the day is over and I worked the whole time...again. 🤦🏻♀️
I know the importance of taking a break. I constantly remind both myself and others that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Yet I often fail to heed my own advice and fill back up.🥛
So today I’m looking for tips. I’d love to learn the strategies that YOU use to hit the pause button. What’s your favorite way to practice self-care, and how do you fit it into your schedule? Let me know below!👇💞
Can you imagine how much time we're taught to spend trying to trick people into meeting our basic emotional and mental needs? When I think about breaking chains, I think about smashing the lie they told us - that seeking care makes us bad, selfish, or arrogant people. So, we end up spending hours and weeks and years of our life trying to hide the fact that we're human and need and deserve love and caring. (Hiding here meaning manipulating other people into giving us what we're already owed - basic visibility and consideration). Repeat after me 🗣I am not a damn thief in the night, I am a human being. I do not have to steal basic consideration and visibility from anyone. I deserve better. // Black folks, brown folks, women, queer folks, trans families have too many systems attempting to steal our time away from us to be pretending we don't need to be seen by the people we choose to have in our lives. Now (and always) is the moment to express your needs directly. No hints. No leaving ambiguous ass breadcrumbs for people to find. If they don't love and respect your boundaries, they're not your people. They haven't done the work necessary to be in your space, and it's not your job to get them there. Nothing like a workout and gratitude journal first thing in the morning to set the tone for your day! It's been some time since I've gone for a run....feels good to get back to it. It can be hard to make time to take care of yourself especially once you become a mom. I have to admit, as much as I try there are days I too struggle. Everyday is different and sometimes you just have to roll with it, you do what you can! Having people around to help is crucial. As a mom of two busy boys I know how much us women tend to take care of everyone else, but in order to do that....we have to take care of ourselves! What do you do to take care of yourself? #gratitude#timeforself#momentrepreneur#takecareofyourself#productivity#selfcare
