The boys have been asking me forever to paint their room blue...although they were a little diappointed that i didnt paint their entire room blue they still love it. I snagged a new full size Marvels bed sheet for $1 #thriftstorefind and turned it into 3 valances. 😍 (My fingers are sore from handsewing those babies...) One week and a ton of work 💪 the room has been decluttered, painted, new curtains and a bigger (much needed) bookshelf to hide the tv cords, display their Hess trucks and trophies. #boysroom#DIYunder20bucks#decluttered#oneroomatatime#whenimnotcakepoppin#whatwillbenext ?
You never know what you’ll find at thrift stores, and you never know if a thing is as fun for humans as it is for the cats for which it’s intended. Seriously tho it has mesh ends you can zip on and stakes to drive into the ground to stabilize it, creating an opportunity for pets to hang out outside more safely. That, or they’ll feel trapped and go berserk. I’m giving it to Craig for my god kittens 🦜 those girls live for watching wildlife in the patio, now they can be out in the patio! #thisis36#almost37#sagittarius#sagittariusculture#cattunnel#thriftstorefind
My most recent thrift store find is this cute little stool. It had coffee stains all over the top, but I was able to clean it with some laundry soap... now to solve who gets to keep it, me or my girls? #handmade#thriftstorefind#popofcolor
Should I wear tights with this outfit? Another #thriftstorefind I've had this lovely size 2 skirt for 2 or 3 years and never wore it out. It felt too tight and the embroidered fabric felt thick and boxy. I finally got into shape enough to wear it, but I was uncertain about it yesterday, too. Still, I think it all came together as a pretty great outfit. #thriftedootd#thriftstorefinds#vintageclothing#checkoutthatpattern
N U R T U R E - I think it’s fair to say that our homes our are safe spaces. The place we go to relax, recharge and escape that real world outside the front door where we have to be all ‘adult’. We all have (consciously or not) an innate need to be around and connect to nature so creating spaces that incorporate #naturalmaterials can be really beneficial and one that doesn’t have to cost the earth both figuratively and literally.
We partnered with the lovely Fran @ethicalunicorn on just this subject and her recent blog post takes a look at how we can create a home that is more sustainable and doesn’t blow the budget. Who’s in? -

We have 3 to 5 inches of snow forecast for Thursday. But that’s okay, because my new Slytherin Rug in the basement office is making my feet so happy. Our basement is actually pretty toasty, it’s by far the warmest place in the wintertime. But linoleum over slab concrete does not make for happy feet. I have been so happy with my office makeover. White paint and twinkle lights and vintage mirrors are the best inspiration. Rhonda isn’t thrilled to share the spotlight with a newbie, but I keep explaining to her that it’s a Harry Potter rug and everyone in this house has to love JK’s world. It’s just the rules. (Rhonda is my shelf/hutch’s name and she keeps my life running smoothly so it makes her a little bossy.)#harrypotternut#wearetheweirdosmister

Raise your hand if you love serendipitous thrift store finds!!!🙌🏼
I snagged this wonder last weekend while visiting my old library's used bookstore. It was sort of a cover buy (gothic much?) but I was also super intrigued by the description:
"Game of Thrones meets Graceling in a thrilling debut that follows the four fierce princesses of enemy kingdoms as their worlds collide in the throes of war.
Rhea, Cadis, Suki, and Iren have lived together since they were children. They are called sisters. They are not. They are called equals. They are not. They areprincesses…and they are enemies.
Not long ago, a brutal war ravaged their kingdoms, and Rhea’s father was the victor. As a gesture of peace, King Declan brought the daughters of his rivals to live under his protection—and his ever-watchful eye. For ten years the girls have trained together as diplomats and warriors, raised to accept their thrones and unite their kingdoms in peace.
But there is rarely peace among sisters. Sheltered Rhea was raised to rule everyone—including her “sisters”—but she’s cracking under pressure. The charismatic Cadis is desperately trying to redeem her people from their actions during the war. Suki guards deep family secrets that isolate her, and quiet Iren’s meekness is not what it seems.
All plans for peace are shattered when the palace is attacked. As their intended futures lie in ashes, Rhea, Cadis, Suki, and Iren must decide where their loyalties lie: to their nations, or to each other."
DOESN'T IT SOUND COOL!?!
