#SydneyPollack sued Danish TV after they aired a pan-and-scan version of #ThreeDaysOfTheCondor in 1991. The court ruled that the pan-and-scan version was a 'mutilation' of the film, and a violation of Pollack's 'Droit Moral', his legal right as an artist to maintain his reputation by protecting the integrity of his work.

Art by @chungkong_art (great posters this included! Go check them out!) What an incredible film. Absolutely a favorite. Mysterious, thrilling, and everything 70s. Felt good to watch it again. Always love that chilling ending, "How do you know they'll print it?". Ah, fantastic. A must-see. Makes me want to read the book. Could talk about this movie for days but I'll stop here so you can enjoy it for yourself. Give this over-looked, underrated 70s flick a chance and you'll be pleasantly surprised. 💛
(read me rant in slightly more detail (w/ explanation for lack of reviews) below!)
Stills from Three Days of the Condor, 1975. 1st pic shows Robert Redford on his way to work, supposedly headed uptown. WRONG. Some sleuthing revealed that he’s actually on 7th Ave and that the Limelight joint was a club/coffee house located at 91 7th Ave South, now Jekyll & Hyde’s restaurant. 2nd pic is the interior of WTC, looking out to the plaza. On the left you can see The Sphere, which survived the 9/11 attacks #threedaysofthecondor#nycfilmlocations#1975film#limelight#wtc#thesphere

3.5/5 ⭐️-The Old Man and the Gun is a masterfully told story brought to life by a beautifully matched cast. The film is fizzy, lightweight fun with some real moments of genuine heart. Its easy going 90 minutes serve great as a swan song to the legend that is Robert Redford. Contrary to Redford saying this wouldn’t be his last film, something I believe he said to get the film off of that type of radar, it still feel it is his last movie. The movie is a true story and follows the exploits of Forrest Tucker played by Redford, an aged bank robber and prison escape artist who robbed dozens of banks with the help of two fellow senior citizens played brilliantly by Danny Glover and Tom Waits. David Lowery who previously directed Redford in Pete’s Dragon and directed last years under-seen masterpiece A Ghost Story, directed this with so much delicacy and professionalism, since he was hand picked by Redford for the project. You can tell he knew it was a special one. His decision to make it a light hearted heist film was shocking at first but he made it work thanks to his charismatic cast.
Robert Redford was excellent as Tucker, and it almost makes you wish he wasn’t retiring at 82 years old because he still has it. Redford with his frisky charisma that’s melted generations of hearts, owns every scene like he’s taking a valedictory lap on a career that began 60 years ago. His chemistry with Sissy Spacek was magnetic. Spacek is so good and appealing you wish the film were about an old couple falling in love without the bank hold-ups. Casey Affleck as the detective, after Tucker, gives a fantastic supporting performance. You can see how Redford gets under his skin and gives him a compulsion to want to capture him.#RobertRedford#CaseyAffleck#JohnDavidWashington#SissySpacek#DannyGlover#TheSundanceKid#TheSting#QuizShow#OutofAfrica#threedaysofthecondor#LethalWeapon#blackkklansman#monstersandmenfilm#goodwillhunting#manchesterbythesea#theassassinationofjessejamesbythecowardrobertford#gonebabygone#jeremiahjohnson
Three Days of the Condor (one of the best spy movies). In 1975, Sydney Pollack directed this movie in a post Watergate climate, from the novel Six Days of the Condor written by James Grady. Starring Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway and Max Von Sydow, the film makes the audience feel unsafe and constantly motivated to not trust anyone as the main character itself, the suspence never ends. Redford with this movie became a timeless style icon. #threedaysofthecondor#sydneypollack#maxvonsydow#fayedunaway#spymovies#cia#robertredford#moviegeek#reviews
"Sydney had never made a film that moved as fast as a moving train and looked so tense. It was a new style of work for him, and it set the bar for all his later thrillers." ~Robert Redford on Sydney Pollack's stunning direction of 'Three Days of the Condor'

In cat-and-mouse drama Three Days of the Condor, 1975, Robert Redford's character Joe plays an undercover agent masquerading as an office worker, which is reflected in his practical style. This week we’re channelling the extrapolation between a pared-back approach to dress and a timelessly elegant ensemble.
