There are multiple levels of this pose so you can go as deep you want. Make sure to feel what works for your body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So:

• Bring your knees to the sides of the mat

• Bring your toes towards each other and sit in between your feet

• Sit up straight, open your chest and place your hands behind you on the mat (maybe you just stay here as this can already give an intense stretch to the thighs)

• If you have the space you can bring both elbows to the mat behind you (swipe image for illustration). Breath here for a while and stay here if this is enough for you

I teach a classically rooted Equinox Institute curriculum but was originally trained in a contemporary method. I often share my experiences of both methods so our students get MORE from their education. O pilates e suas mil e uma possibilidades. Para a construção do aluno de pilates clássico, muitas vezes o conteúdo é passado de uma forma bem quadrada, preto e branco, mas ao longo da caminhada percebemos que mesmo dentro da contrologia é possível sermos flexíveis, sem fugirmos da essência, sem precisarmos criar coisas mirabolantes e ficar adicionando aparatos que não condizem ao método e que fogem totalmente da essência.
Escuto às vezes de alguns alunos de achar o clássico repetitivo, eu até tinha este pensamento a um tempo atrás, hoje não mais. Se pararmos para pensar num lutador de artes marciais, para que ele passe de faixa, seja lapidado, dê o melhor dele, o que ele precisa? Treino, repetição, persistência e muita força de vontade.
Então caros colegas, a cada vez que você faz um hundred, um roll up, uma sequência no reformer por exemplo, você está dominando e aprimorando cada detalhe daquele exercício. Imagina se eu ficar mudando o tempo inteiro, qual o parâmetro avaliativo eu terei? Da mesma forma quando você utiliza um protocolo de tratamento, seguimos uma linha, uma repetição, para termos um resultado.
Hoje o nome pilates é muito comercial e muitas pessoas acham que pegar uma bola suíça, respirar e ter controle está praticando pilates. Será? Respeito todos os colegas que trabalham com as mais diversas linhas. Aqui expresso minha humilde opinião e experiência de 04 anos com pilates contemporâneo e 1 ano e meio de pilates clássico (contrologia). Hoje vejo sentido das coisas e a conexão do porquê Joseph fazer estes exercícios e o que ele buscava por trás de tudo isto. Por isso, escolhi em respeito a Joseph, trabalhar apenas com a CONTROLOGIA.
No vídeo temos dois exercícios originais do cadillac, mas que estou variando num ambiente domiciliar sem uso do equipamento, utilizando uma simples faixa elástica em formato de tubo (tube band). Quer ser um instrutor de pilates clássico?

This is great before & after #kitesurfing and any other sport, of course.
With proper alignment first , you gain faster overall flexibility &strength, prevent injuries, and you can progress easier.🤓 so practice playfully, practice mindfully , practice smart...❤️🤩
HOW TO:
👉 Feet are sitbone distance apart, ground through balls&heels, lift toes for a moment to activate arches (#padabandha),ground down through that trinity of your feet, lift slightly through inner thighs up to navel, pull low front spine in an up, level your hipcrests/ peak of hips (#asis) showing forward to maintain #pelvicstability to avoid to compress in your low back or through femurs misaligning and straining your knee joints☝️. Relax shoulders&jaws, gaze forward towards an imaginary point and keep inner focus on your core ( somewhere around and behind navel 😉).
Find your breath, keep your knees microbent, shift weight on one foot and hover the other over the floor, finding your balance. 😀 Smile! On the EXHALE  from the pelvic diaphragm 👉slightly pull the low belly in and up (#mulabandha active), lift the knee up. (This is for pelvicstabilty, supporting #biomechanics with your breath). Keep pulling front low spine in and up (#corestrength). 💪 Grab the ankle while dropping knee straight down, activate again the padabandha, the arches of that lifted foot 👉happy toes 😆 to maintain the knee joint locked in a healthy way, push the top of that foot with active toes into your hand, stand tall. Relax your jaws and smile😃 Standing leg stays microbent and root down throw balls and heels, not the toes. Keep on breathing long and smooth, check with hip crests to maintain them levelled. 
Take the exhale to mindfully return the knee straight in front of your upperbody and slowly place it back down. While holding&moving the leg mindfully through the hipjoint, you enhance the #hipflexibilty and avoid a misaligned low back (SI joints stay aligned as well as your sacrum and you will have #happyknees) 
Relax, breathe, walk in place and repeat - set your foundation to switch to the other sides.

I'm fascinated by this book and everything it's teaching me! Acceptance and loving yourself takes time...it's a long journey for some of us but the older I get the easier it's getting. I love the way thigh stretch feels. It’s stretch and strength all in one. I love that this exercise can be done on the mat alone, or add a resistance band around a stable source to mimic the Pilates ropes for a little extra support. These three are some of my favorite post-workout stretches when it comes to lower body! Standbys from my running days 👍🏻
1️⃣Quad stretch - heel to butt and hold for 30 seconds and switch legs
2️⃣ Hamstring / behind-knee stretch - back straight, one leg bent, stretched leg straight, reach for toes - hold for 30 seconds and switch legs
3️⃣ Hip stretch - grab a pole, chair, or wall, stack right ankle on left knee, sink into an almost seated position and keep ties flexed (toes pointing up) - hold 30 seconds and switch legs

Do each of these babies 3 times on both legs and you’ll be feeling great! 🌸
