Architecture appreciation post: the Tree House project in California by @gregfaulknerarchitect is absolutely mesmerizing - a beautiful meeting between a home and nature, living in complete harmony. As an interior designer, a strong architectural base is paramount in order to achieve the perfect space.
We had the best stay at @congresshall in June, so much so we’re already planning our return visit next year! I’ll be sharing a a look at this wonderful property on WestmountFashionista shortly! #wmftravels#congresshall#hotellife
It's definitely time to admire @stephaniehowden's work again. This was part-way through a gigantic drawing of @aninebing's leather jacket for one of her new stores. The completed piece is now in NYC. Congrats Steph, your work blows me away.
Homeowners and first-time natural stone buyers present us with the age-old question time and time again, “is marble OK to use on my kitchen countertops?” The pros and cons of using marble in the kitchen are often confused and misinterpreted, therefore the @ariastonegallery team is here to provide the facts you need before making this big decision.

The Antenor Patiños at Quinta Patiño near Estoril, Part 9, Small Dining Room, as it appeared after 1982: Not sure where this is in the house, but love this room. Some people have pointed out that François Catroux designed a table like this for a client in London, but no designer is given credit for it here. Notice the lacquered ceiling. The glass-front cabinets hold china emblazoned with Patiño monograms. Chairs are 18th-century French. According to article: "When running full pelt, this estate, or quinta, was pretty well self–sufficient with its vineyards and farms, beehives and olive groves, fruit trees, cool houses, hot houses and shady houses. The latter are sort of rest homes for the potted trees and plants that spend half their lives decorating halls and verandas in or near the house, and the other half recovering in the shaded and intensive care of a nurseryman.
The interior schemes were carried out over the years for the Patiños by famous decorating friends, but clearly, au fond, it is their own project, gleefully conceived and unstintingly achieved. There are so many beautiful castles in Portugal that the Patiños hadn't the slightest difficulty in finding seams of decorative inspiration. The Palacio National in nearby Sintra (a cool summer destination for European royalty for centuries past) yielded the idea of paneling all their ceilings in painted wood. In the bedrooms, where the ceilings are fairly low, these masterpieces of joinery and molding are colored plain white, but downstairs where their height calls for a more exciting solution, they are painted in mixed muted shades of terra-cotta, yellow and grays."
