Luke Dale Roberts & Co introduces a new culinary concept charity event, Signature of Hope Gala Dinner. .
And it’s all in aid of the Signature of Hope Trust, a 100% non-profit organisation.
On Sunday 16 December the inaugural Signature of Hope Gala Dinner will open its doors to just 100 fortunate guests. Tickets to this landmark gastronomic affair will be for sale by invitation and online.
This red carpet line up will feature multi-award-winning Chef Luke Dale Roberts and his three talented protégés: Freddie Dias of The Pot Luck Club, Wesley Randles of The Shortmarket Club and The Commissary, and Ryan Cole of Salsify at the Roundhouse. “We are all so excited about the event. It’s an opportunity for us to give back in a meaningful way while really pushing the boundaries of what we love to do - create and cook and, at the same time help change our country for the better,” says Luke.
Aside from the food, there will be plenty of surprises on the night. Firstly, the venue is a secret, with guests transported in chauffeured vehicles sponsored by Mercedes Benz, from a pre-event soiree sponsored by leading champagne brand Bollinger, to the secret location. Live entertainment at the venue will include surprise contributions from some of South Africa’s best-loved celebs, and a charity auction featuring luxury experiences and collectables. This includes a unique artwork created live on the night by bronze sculptor Otto du Plessis.

This year has once again been difficult for us to select the finalists. We have thoroughly enjoyed spending time and cooking with the eight finalists.
We were honored to have a visit from the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elizabeth Thabethe and MEC for Tourism in the North West, Desbo Mohono. As always the team at Zevenwacht were more than instrumental in ensuring the success of this event.
We look forward to welcoming the three internship winners to France next year and our heartfelt thanks for the kindness and generosity of our American friends who have helped to make this possible.

위스키 바같은 Dark Room 에서 지도에 표시된 나라들의 대표 요리법/재료로 만든 아뮤즈부쉬를 먹고, Light Room 으로 이동하여 본격적인 다이닝을 시작하는데 - 물론 요리들은 모두 맛있었지만 다양한 재료와 조리법을 사용하고, 식사를 하나의 Journey로 풀어내는 식당이 이제는 많아져서.. 그 경험 자체는 큰 놀람이 없었지만
#lukedaleroberts 의 카리스마와 일사분란하게 움직이는 팀을 보며, 잘되는 조직은 겉으로 보기에도 역시 다르다는 생각을 🤓

終於一償宿願品嘗了南非排名第一熱門餐廳 The Test Kitchen。
The Test Kitchen 餐廳於2010年由名廚 Luke Dale Roberts 創立，他之前曾是南非知名餐廳 La Colombe 的名廚，成立了自己的餐廳後，更是大鳴大放，The Test Kitchen 更榮獲美食權威評鑑《Eat Out》選為非洲No1餐廳，同時列為全球50強之第22位！
我以前曾聽人家說這餐廳 overrating 被過譽了，但自己去吃了之後，深深覺得這餐廳很棒，非常有創意精神，儘管有些料理乍看有些怪，但卻搭配地恰如其分，整個用餐過程，驚喜連連！
餐廳空間今年初才剛翻修過，分為 Dark Room 和 Light Room 主餐廳，進入主餐廳前，會先在 Dark Room 裡享用前菜及飲料等。但這裡的前菜，可不只是打發時間的隨便前菜啊！總計七道前菜的菜單，都列寫在一張舊如大航海時代的世界地圖的上，包括有來自日本、韓國、印度的料理。原來主廚 Luke 曾在亞洲工作五年，在馬來西亞、新加玻、韓國等地開過餐廳，而 Dark Room 菜譜所呈現的，正是名廚 Luke 再世界各地的味覺旅程。
The Test Kitchen 真是是一家充滿驚奇的餐廳，正因為座落在開普敦市區的 Old Biscuit Mill，也是 Woodstock 新興的藝術發展區，所以餐廳空間與菜餚設計，都有股濃濃藝術創意風格。
頂級料理本就是一場華麗的競技，越有膽試創意，越能在競技中出線。就如Luke所強調的，他的料理精神，「最重要的是味道，有層次的味道。」 The Test Kitchen 帶給我的味道，不只是舌尖上的味覺而已，是連視覺、聽覺與觸覺的味蕾，也一次被打開了！是一場令人滿足的、充滿繽粉與驚喜的美麗晚宴！
