Thursday’s are my obligatory freeze my ass off outside days.
I’ve noticed lately that there has been a lot of negativity about posting paces on Instagram. As a slower runner I’m always nervous that someone is going to tell me I’m not a “real runner” because I don’t run fast enough. But I like to post my paces because it shows my story.
Today’s run was an easy run. And my pace was what I would have considered a hard run two months ago. I love seeing that progress. In myself. And in everyone else. Without these online running communities I’d be left feeling my excitement without having anyone to share it with. None of my friends are runners so they don’t understand why I get so excited about taking seconds of my km time.

When we’re not at the store, we live on the farmstead my grandparents owned. We’re usually surrounded by open sky, prairies, and the coulee that runs through our farm has a small trickle. This year is a little different - the whole south side of the coulee has filled with water (and it’s deep - probably 30 feet or more - you can see the depth of the coulee as a whole on the second pic) and it’s now running 🌊🌊🌊over the road (our house is up on higher ground from this - so no worries there)! We’ve had such a tremendous amount of snow this year, that the run off is the highest we’ve ever seen! Isn’t Mother Nature amazing?!
