Excited to connect @ohiostatetfxc to @nationwidekids yesterday for a visit with the kids. AFH University is really bringing their A game this year with visits all over the country. Proud to have @theohiostateuniversity teams on the roster!
Students in the Glenn College's Leadership Community and Civic Leadership Council used their Veterans Day holiday to take part in a service project at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank where they sorted and packed food.
Today’s member spotlight is Trey Wilson!
“Hi, I am a fourth-year majoring in Communication. I am from Pickerington, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus). I am involved in Block “O”, Young Life and I’m the team manager for the men’s soccer team...
I have ADHD and have dealt with social anxiety and feelings of depression as well. I even thought of suicide at one point but I spoke up and relied on my faith and that honestly saved my life.
I wish people knew more of the effects of mental health and how they affect people. It’s pretty upsetting how mental health is causing pain to those who suffer from it, even suicide. I hope they know that, mental health it’s not just a feeling, it’s a condition that affects people physically and mentally. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
My words of encouragement to anyone would be to speak up immediately and don’t try to go through the struggle alone. You are here for a purpose and you are loved. And with a support group, you can get through this. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I joined NeverWalkAlone in hopes of gaining more knowledge of mental health. Additionally, I wanted to know that I have people I can talk about my mental health issues with. I’m so blessed to be a part of this group.”
Detail from; Still Life with Two Red Stripes and Drip, 60x82 inches, 2016. Hear's the thing; I'm rushing in on my 68th year. After 50 years of making paintings... it still pretty much excites the breath out of me. Through stubbornness or stupidity I'll keep at it. Even if it never pays the bills! Oh yea, check out that little, ass kicking white drip above the chipmunks face...it pulls the painting all together.
