Here's our #GamerBehindtheGames entry! My name is Scott, I recently finished a PhD in Creative Writing and English Lit at Texas Tech. I just started work as an assistant professor for the University of Utah and tomorrow (tomorrow!!!) we are flying to Incheon, South Korea, as I will be teaching at the Utah Asia Campus. I've been playing board and card games my whole life. Risk, chess, Phase 10, Aquire, backgammon, and other such games were regular family activitues at our house, in addition to a slew of 90s-tastic games my brother and I played. But I got into more Euro games when I discovered Catan in high school, and then really got into it in college, as my best friend was also a gamer. My wife, Kirsten, @korea_with_kids, is an accessibility specialist and instructional designer, which means she helps professors design their courses to be ready for students with special needs. We've been married almost 7 years and this will be the third time we've lived internationally together (we have also lived in Kazakhstan and Ecuador, plus just lots of other traveling) and we love playing board games together! We have a three-year-old son and a four-month-old daughter. .
Today my lovie and @teambryanscott will be racing Ferraris at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, while @maishamscott and I experience our own adrenaline rush at #NeriumGR ....if you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space #TheFamilyThatPlaysTogether
