YES! Don’t laugh, I call this my Waspy-Italian Summer Pasta because it marries a recipe my mom had from the Junior League with my experience cooking in Italy 😂. Link in bio and gorgeous food by @ourharvest.
While nothing can compare to the amazing local produce in California (@thehfm love you mean it), I’m super excited to have the @unsqgreenmarket nearby for my market fix. Couldn’t keep my eyes off these little tomato babes today! I love thinking about how they are destined for so many different dishes depending on who takes ‘em home. ❤️
“I could never eat like you, I enjoy food too much” 🤦🏼♀️ says everyone who has forgotten what heirloom tomatoes taste like in the summer, the perfect sweetness a roasted sweet potato or handful of blueberries can add to any dish, not to mention, the fun, colorful, & vibrant colors that come along with eating well. .
Not only do I get enjoyment from the colors I get to play with while creating my meals but I frickin love the way they taste when the flavor combinations kick it up a notch with every bite.
Tell me I don’t love food, one more time, I DARE YOU 😂✌🏼💕
I truly feel misunderstood when people think I don’t “enjoy” food because I pass on the donuts in the break room. .
I know I’m speaking to the choir here, so that’s why I thought I’d share my WIN today. I’m finally getting back into the routine of making more food at home and eating out less again because my digestion has been off & I always feel better when I know exactly what’s going into my food. .
PLUS, check out those colors 🌈 you better believe it’s as delicious as it looks. Alllllll on top of a giant bowl of @organicgirl greens #lettucerebel .
👉🏼Not pictured: my fav homemade salad dressing .... olive oil + lemon juice and a little wildflower honey blended till creamy. .
Bunches of fresh herbs are the botanical décor at my house. I had such a surplus that I used parsley and mint in a tabbouleh salad along with hearty grains. Search 'pearl barley tabbouleh' on lastingredient.com for the recipe.
Just made my second batch of salsa this season. I toss the tomatoes and poblanos on the grill and char them for this fire roasted salsa canning recipe, I can’t get enough of this stuff 🔥🍅🌶💃🏻 Sitting here about to pour a glass of wine and listening to the jars seal... ping! Happy canning ☺️🤓

I remember when I introduced my husband (then he was just my friend) to Larabars... he was doing whole30 and dying for something other than the chicken and sweet potato he would make himself for lunch every day. Fast forward two and a half years and we’re pretty far from those whole30 days 🙈 but we still enjoy a good Larabar. These homemade ones are easier than you can imagine and have only 2 ingredients - get the recipe on kenanandkale.com 🍴
I can't believe we are in the middle of August and summer is quickly fading! Don't get me wrong, I am SO excited for fall!! it's my favorite season of the year and I am already counting down the days until I can grab a pumpkin spice latte.... Btw it's 13 but there are a few things I will miss about summer: Popsicles for breakfast Because it's already 95 degrees, juicy sweet peaches, peach cobbler, peach muffins 🍑 the giggles of the kids playing in the sprinklers together and the warm evening strolls by the lake!
Are you going to miss summer? What was your favorite memory this summer?
Tomatoes are in the peak of their season, and we will take any excuse to enjoy them with their perfect pair, @justdatesyrup. Exhibit A? This tomato and stonefruit cheese board with burrata, @justdatesyrup, extra virgin olive oil, and flaky salt. Enjoy over crusty bread, or simply as is - preferably with a glass of sparkling wine. Was a little hesitant to do a personal post but reached 424 followers when i woke up which is my birthday and fav number so felt like it was a sign to pop in and say hello (does that make sense to anyone else?!) I realized I don’t have a lot of pics of me eating food ironically, and my friends like to make fun of me for this picture because my salad came with bread and it’s #gluten and I’m gluten free 😱 but here’s 5 quick facts about me! I’d love to get to know you all better and answer any questions you have, so always feel free to comment or DM me!
1. On the topic of gluten I’ve been gluten free for 10 years now! Aka before it was trendy and everything tasted like cardboard 🍞
2. I was a health and exercise science major at wake forest university and am currently applying to medical school. I hope to one day be able to treat people more holistically with my health and exercise background 👩🏼⚕️ 3. The Office is my all time favorite show and the only series I’ve ever watch completely through multiple times! 📄
4. I LOVE DOGS! All shapes and sizes but I’m especially partial to my golden retriever mut Gracie 🐶
5. I dream of one day living in California. I love to hike and go to the beach. Sorry NC I love you, but you’re humid AF! My best friend lives in LA and I joke that one day I’m just going to show up at his door and never come back. He also took this pic of me so thanks Em! ☀️ That’s probably it for a while! Happy Wednesday everyone! ☺️
Let’s talk snacks! I love roasting tomatoes and putting them on top of hummus with basil. It really elevates your store bought hummus and makes it seem fancy! Perfect for last minute entertaining! Tell me one of your entertaining tips below! 👇🏻
As well as blackberries, we also have an abundance of figs... these are actually hand delivered by my dad from his many fig trees. He has too many so we have too many 🙈 so I made fig and blackberry pizza... fig cake come up next... probably with blackberries in it 🙈
Can you believe I was going to the gym when the first picture was taken!!!! 🙈 I got up early to get my workout in before work because I knew if I waited I wouldn’t go after work. -
I remember I dreaded going and I skipped more days than I should have. I would walk in the gym and have no clue as to what to do so I’d jump on the elliptical. It was sooo boring that I complained to my husband the entire time we were there. 🤦🏻♀️
The weight machines looked foreign to me and some of them scared the crap out of me. I was so intimidated to ask anyone for help that I just avoided using them. I would’ve rather been bored out of my mind on the elliptical the entire time, knowing it wasn’t working, than muster up the courage to talk to someone who knew what they were doing.
I was skeptical about these workouts at first because how would 30 minutes a day change my life. I would spend an hour at the gym and barely see any changes. I honestly can’t believe how much these 30 minute workouts have change my life.
🌀When I went to the gym I never had support like I do now. There wasn’t a community of ladies uplifting and supporting one another 🌀When I went to the gym I had no idea what the hell I was doing and with my at home workouts everything is laid out for me 🌀When I went to the gym I didn’t get a nutrition plan. I was on my own and had no idea where to start 🌀When I went to the gym I would skip going and now I show up for my 30 minute workouts 🌀When I went to the gym I always felt intimidated and out of place. Not anymore!!! 🌀When I was going to the gym I would lose and gain the same 5 lbs. I’ve kept off the weight I’ve lost so far and I continue to lose weight -
Are you sick of spending money on the gym and not going? Or are you going and not seeing any results?
If you want to know more about how these silly at home 30 minute workouts can change your FREAKING life like they have changed mine, comment below or DM me
Currently experiencing life at the speed of 50 WTFs per hour (errr maybe minute!) so I’m off to pour a glass of 🍷 and knock out some exciting planning for this retreat you are all DMing me about 🤗🤗🤗 #bigthingscoming
If I make you a birthday cake, be warned: I *will* make you pose with it. HBD to my favorite cake model and one of the bravest, smartest, kindest women I've ever had the pleasure to watch Mamma Mia with nearly a hundred times. || chocolate cake with blueberry filling, chocolate buttercream, and the last of my early summer gardenias. #eatmoremagic
Weeknight dinner tip: Make pasta dough the night before and stash it in the fridge. When you're ready for dinner the next day, let the dough sit out to warm up a bit before you roll it out with a pasta maker or rolling pin to cut noodles. Search 'fresh spinach pasta' on lastingredient.com for the recipe. 💚
#tbt to when I used to cook. I was all excited thinking my apartment hotel would have a kitchen but turns out by kitchen they mean microwave. I’ve literally been eating out for 6 weeks and I am craving a home-cooked meal like 🤤 🤤 🤤 + it’s winter here so this Indian spiced chicken is looking real good to me rn #droolonmyscreen#oops
I’ve been really into seaweed these days and this 10-minute dinner contains a whole bunch of it! 🍚

Made the best clean-out-the-fridge lunch this weekend. Arugula Salad with Shredded Carrots, Persian Cucumber, Celery, Toasted Chickpeas, Cilantro, Peanuts, Lime, and Peanut Dressing via @bewellbykelly.
Someone just told me I look like Meghan Markle (🤔) while I was diving full force into this plant-party. The diving full force in the plant-party part is pretty irrelevant to that very unusual compliment (although I have heard that Megs loves her plants! 🌱🌿🥕) but it tasted good!
Couldn’t let #NationalCreamsicleDay pass without celebrating so I teamed up with my friends at @zevia to make this Cherry Tarragon Creamsicle Soda🍒. It’s like a grown up version of the creamy italian sodas we used to drink as a kid without all the sugary syrups! Here’s how to make it: #sponsored
CHERRY TARRAGON CREAMSICLE SODA
1 can @zevia Cream Soda
2 T tarragon cherry puree (recipe below)
2 T heavy cream
cherries, to garnish
sprig of tarragon, to garnish
CHERRY TARRAGON PURÉE:
1 c black cherries, pitted and halved
1 sprig tarragon
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 c water
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the cherries, tarragon, lemon juice, and water. Cover and let simmer for about 20 minutes until liquid has reduced and cherries are tender. Remove tarragon sprig and puree mixture in a blender then strain through a mesh strainer and discard the cherry pulp. In two large glasses, add a tablespoon of the cherry mixture into each glass and pour 6 oz of @zevia Cream Soda into each and top with ice. Stir, drizzle a tablespoon of heavy cream over each glass, and garnish with cherries and a sprig of tarragon. Serves 2.
No te voy a mentir, tuve que esperar media hora (durante la ola de calor 🔥🤪) para mi bol de acai pero la verdad es que mereció la pena. 💜
I'm not going to lie, I had to wait half an hour (during the heat wave) for my acai bowl but the truth is that it was worth it. 💜

Another #treatyoself Tuesday with homemade triple berry pie. Yeah there is nothing #shedapproved about this - but it is important to bring up. There will be delicious wonderful pie (or ice cream or cake, etc) that comes into your life- and you should not feel guilty eating it. Mostly because it is good for your soul! If you are living a healthy lifestyle there is room for pie. That’s why you kept it clean all week. It’s all about finding balance and living in the middle. Unrelated- who has served pie instead of wedding cake at their wedding?? #tripleberrypie
My dinner last night could be your breakfast today... or your dinner tonight! Why should we eat within the confines of only breakfast foods in the morning? Where are my rule breakers at?! 🙋🏼♀️ French toast for two, DO IT 👉🏼 4 slices @alvaradostreetbakery sprouted wheat bread (I always buy the green bag) // 4 @vitalfarms pasture-raised eggs // 1 tsp. cinnamon // 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract // 2 tbsp. unsweetened non-dairy milk of choice // 1 sliced peach.
Heat your oven to 350. Place sliced peaches on a lined baking sheet and shake some cinnamon on top. While peaches bake, beat together eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and milk in a shallow bowl. Heat your skillet on medium heat and melt ghee or butter for cooking. Lay your sliced bread in the egg mixture, coating both sides. Lay on skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes each side flipping once. Once all french toasties are cooked, place two slices on each plate. Remove peaches from oven, top off with maple syrup, more ghee and hemp seeds. CHOW DOWN. 👍🏼
P.S. I’ll be doing an Instagram live today with @bayclubs at 12:45PST. I’ll be answering all your nutrition so make sure to tune in!
This AM’s hazelnut-spreaded, blueberry compote-topped, gf sweet potato pancakes (or really, pancakE cuz I do have a wedding dress to fit into in 53 days 🙋🏼♀️) really just gave my usual protein pancakes 🥞 🍠 a real aggressive run for their money 💵 🏃🏼♀️😍😍😍😍😍
