So it’s Monday morning & what a weekend it’s been.
I had a few clients competing at the weekend there at the Scottish @ukdfba Championships and luckily enough enough came home with trophies.
Now for me I do always want everyone to do well enough to place, get a trophy or win but ultimately for me it’s going through that process of setting yourself a goal and seeing it through no matter what.
Dieting is hard and comp prep is even harder. You pushing your body to extremes to a point in which is doesn’t what to be. It’s draining physically and mentally and is very demanding in all aspects in life. And can sometimes leave you feeling at times is it all really worth it.
Looking your absolute best and going through the journey is smashing the goal itself and a trophy is just the cherry on top. This is a hobby for most of us and will never be a career but it doesn’t mean that’s it’s the end all or be all. Yes we will all give more than 100% and more than our lives depends on it and yes there will be sacrifice but I have personally realised that somethings aren’t worth sacrificing for. A trophy is great but most of my trophy and medals are sitting on a self somewhere gathering dust and not really have a massive impact on my day to day life. It’s still important and I love the process but there is more to life than the 60 secs on stage.
Rosie has now smashed both her shows with a top 3 trophy is both shows at the @bnbf_official Scottish and now @ukdfba Scottish with invites to both finals. Now for me Rosie will never step on stage out of condition as that is her strength. She pretty much stays 3kg above stage all year round which is something that I want to be able to change to allow her to fully develop and grow. With a bit more tissue and fullness she is going to be extremely hard to bea with great proportions, symmetry, condition and her posing along with stage presence was second to none.
Being able to see her on stage this weekend really allowed me to see where we were at with things in the grand scheme of things and did have the placing in a different order according to what the judges were looking for on the day.

WALKING VS. RUNNING – WHICH IS BETTER FOR YOUR HEALTH?
Running and walking are both popular ways to get a great cardio workout. But is a brisk walk really as good an exercise as a sweaty, heart-pounding run?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Research reported by the American Heart Association finds that walking is just as good as running when it comes to lowering your risk for heart disease.
Researchers analyzed the health of some 48,000 runners and walkers mainly in 40s and 50s. They found that, mile for mile, brisk walking lowers the risk for diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure as much as running does.
The difference? You’ll have to spend more time walking than you do running to get the same health benefits simply because it takes longer to walk than to run the same distance. For instance, a 15-minute jog burns about the same number of calories as a half-hour brisk walk.
Keep in mind that the chance of being injured is greater in runners because running puts more stress on the body — on the joints in particular.
But if you’re still thinking of stepping up the pace to running, first check with your doctor, especially if you have arthritis or other health conditions, like heart disease.
And keep in mind that you don’t have to stick to either walking or running. You can stay motivated by mixing it up. What’s more, adding short sprints to your walking routine will give you a bigger calorie-burning boost for your efforts.
