When you try to come for me, I keep on flourishing. 😉
Update: Life abroad ain’t always easy - aka Paris has officially kicked my behind in more ways than one. From spending days with french administration to obtain my residence card to getting kicked out of my apartment 😭 (will share deets soon) - the past few weeks have been a lot. Few of many instances that have sent my life on a tailspin as of late, but despite it all I can’t help but smile. Deep down I know that everything is working in favor of something greater. 🙌🏾 Oh, and Paris I still love you. You have been forgiven ....but I may or may not be giving you the side eye. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On another note, it’s times like these that show you who you can really count on. Huge shoutout to everyone near and far who showed UP for me over the past few weeks. You have no idea how much you are appreciated. 😘
I try to remain open to possibilities beyond my imagination. Even as a well traveled adult I realize that I haven’t been exposed to everything and I certainly don’t know everything. That’s the beautiful thing about the world. There will always be something new to see, different ways of experiencing things and some things we never even knew existed. If we’re humble, open and lucky enough we’ll keep being surprised by the world.
When you’re living somewhere between zen and turnt. This is my current state of affairs. I’ve been trying to return back to zen mode, but I’m still buzzing from the melanin magic that I absorbed a couple of weeks ago.
I’m okay with it ☺️
Frederick Lutheran Church is the oldest church in St. Thomas. Unfortunately, the church has hurricane damage, so we were not able to enter. Fun fact- according to our tour guide, members of the gospel were sent to jail for missing service!
Lined with beautiful flora on both sides, the 99 Steps are a popular tourist attraction. Charlotte Amalie is known for its street steps, which cut through the hills and offer a faster way of navigating through the neighborhood. The 99 Steps are in disrepair (understandable due to age) and all in all, they’re just stairs. It’s worth a visit for the view from the top! It also leads to Blackbeard’s Castle, but that is also closed due to hurricane damage. Fun fact, there are actually 103 (if you count the barely-there one at the bottom). -
This statue is located in Emancipation Gardens, a park that was built to commemorate the freeing of slaves in 1848. The statue features a freed slave blowing into a conch shell. The park also hosts a pavilion- often used for concerts, and a replica of the liberty bell. -
There is so much culture and history in Charlotte Amalie! I couldn’t even capture it all. Swipe to see more.
Some things I am in love with; ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sunrise in Venice in early September.
The view from the plane window when flying into NYC.
The 48 hours I spent in New Orleans.
Havana and everyone in Havana.
Barbados; the entire Island.
The French Riviera, but mostly Menton.
The Amalfi Coast.
Snowdonia National Park.
The Cornish Coastline.
And now, Paris at dusk :) What are you in love with?
Today’s #Affirmation :

(Fill in the blank and leave your affirmation in the comment.)
::It took a lot of courage for 8 amateurs to go kayaking on their own. We did it and had fun!::
What do you need the courage to do today?
Efff Spongebob... I'm the really Sandy Cheeks
SN: I was going through this constant battle with myself about if I should post this picture. Asking myself if I'm over sexualizing myself because my buns are showing. Reassuring myself that I'm more than my body.
Then I came to an understanding that yes I am more than my body. However I love my body. I'm my body, brains and whatever I want to be.
Today is international women's day so I'm doing it for the culture.
In Cancun flaunting my cheeks. 🍑
Women, love yourself and everything about you. You're beautiful inside and out.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY!
I love you. 🌹
