We are sick! Well, the baby and Anton aren’t. But the rest of us, we’re in rough shape. I always accept help. I’m never too much of a superwoman to say yes to help. Never. When I’m at the grocery store, I ALWAYS accept help bagging. Oh, and you want to push my cart to my car? Absolutely. What’s that? You’ll load them into my trunk? Yes, yes you will. Oh and the cart. You’re going to take that with you, right? Look, here’s the thing. Accepting help is so important. You want to send me, my kids AND a cart of groceries out into that parking lot ALONE?! No. No one wants to see that. And when I get home from that store, I’m tired. But these kids, these kids are ready to run circles. Literally. So anything I can do to save a little energy, I’m going to do it for sure. Help is one of my favorite things. Accepting help is one of my superpowers. I’m always grateful and I often offer help to others, so I’m not a total moocher. But back to my sick crew. Let’s bring it full circle here. Today I needed to make some smoothies for this rough bunch. I called my neighbor, who is 9 months prego. I just needed her to hold a kid, the healthy one. Just step a foot in my door. Not too close. Maybe amuse the sickos a bit, from afar. But please come help. They’re all hanging on me and screaming and yelling for things and needing all of this stuff. I can’t even feed myself, let alone make a damn smoothie. So she came. She’s a saint. I only needed 3 minutes. She walked in my door and looked at my scene. The house was a complete disaster, the toys, the kitchen, everything was an explosion. I hadn’t showered or done really...anything...all day except for hold sick kids. And my hair, well, my hair was being held up by a CHIP CLIP. A CHIP CLIP!! That’s a clip you use to hold bags of chips closed after you open them. It is NOT a hair accessory. It says Snack Clip across it and it was in my hair. Yikes. But seriously, never be afraid to ask for help. It’s the best. And thank goodness for kind, super pregnant neighbors who will roll into your sick household and hold your baby while you try to nourish the sickos. Bonus points that she didn't seem to judge me. Or she hid it really well.
We were all rotten back in the day ...always doing something crazy with our hair ...surprised we have any left ......now she’s an amazing stylist doing this with her sister ...I seriously lol’d at her text ! It’s true .😂❤️#thathair#gamechanger#haircare#tryittuesday
From being this little girl to being who I am today, I have learned so much on this 23 year journey. •We can plan out our entire life, but the truth is at any given moment a million things can change. •Next week or next month isn’t guaranteed, so we should work extra hard today to fulfill our dreams. •The future is an ocean of uncertainty and I’m constantly learning how to ride the wave. •It’s okay to take care of ourselves first. Just don’t let selfishness define us. •Love is the most important thing in this world.
I wish I knew what I was thinking about in this moment, but today I know I’m proud of who this little girl has become. #littlegirlbigdreams#thathair
