Just wanted to share some more photos of my day at the annual 31st Toys in the Sun Run. I was a lucky enough to be able to join some of our nation's veterans as well as the kids from the Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital on stage with Bret Michaels!! Those veterans and the amazing kids are the true heroes! Bret, your kindness towards others is truly amazing! Thanks to everyone involved! A day to remember for sure! #bretmichaels#usa#usveterans#thankyouforyourservice#hardrock#curekids
So glad I could squeeze in one more #HomesForHeroes closing before the end of the year! Congratulations to the Rosas family! That Hero Rewards check couldn’t come at a better time. Merry Christmas to you!
🎉Congratulations to @pasadenalibrary's Nick Smith and @pasadenapd's William Shipman, Marcia Taglioretti and Michael Villalovos (not pictured) on 35 years of service to the City. All four employees were celebrated at last night's council meeting. #ThankYouForYourService
Took some time today to write holiday cards with warm wishes to our men & women in uniform, as they dedicate another season away from family and loved-ones ensuring the freedom we enjoy every day. Great initiative by the @AmericanRedCross! 🇺🇸
Just 3 days until all 32 of our Veteran guests gather for our annual “Michael Matteoli Warriors in the Wetlands”. We have been busy stocking up on ammo and plenty of other goodies for the weekend! We can’t wait to get these guys out in the blind and have them slay some birds. We will be sure to keep you all updated on through the event so it can be like y’all are here with us! How many bands do you think we can get this year? 🤔🦆
Lots of thoughts about our US military men abroad this holiday season which was the inspiration for this camouflage wreath. If you or someone you know has a loved one who cannot spend time with family this December 25th because they are deployed, this might be something you'd be interested in owning and proudly displaying!
Link for purchase in bio soon!
We feel very thankful having the opportunity to support the Badger Honor Flight program! Our very own Gordon Walling attended the 34th Honor Flight where he and other fellow veterans were flown to Washington D.C. to witness memorials built in their honor. #thankyouforyourservice
Quite possibly the coolest gift I’ve ever received. This past weekend in Palm Springs, CA a teammate (servicemen) on our 4 The Fallen team gifted a few of us civilians these Arming Loops. He takes immense pride in his job and it was an incredible gesture that took me by complete surprise. Thank you, Matty. 👊🏼
“These arming loops are attached to arming wire. The arming wire is attached the the main fuse of a MK-82 bomb body. When the pilot releases the bomb, the arming loop is retained with the jet therefor pulling the arming wire and activating the fuse to the bomb. The next object that bomb hits goes boom. Every single arming loop I’ve gathered we’re from my deployment and were used in efforts to fight the constant war on terrorism.“
Do Good December Day 9: Let someone go ahead of you in line. In a gas station I let a service member go ahead of me at the “snack” counter and then he let me go ahead of him at the cashier. 😂 kinda washed each other out. #dogooddecember#thankyouforyourservice
In the recent months and weeks, our military community has been struck by tragedy--from fallen Soldiers in Afghanistan to Marines who perished in a flight operation mishap in Japan. It serves as a constant reminder that our freedoms are not free and are paid for by those who serve and sacrifice while defending our nation. .
Today we HOPE. We HOPE for healing and peace for the families of our fallen heroes.
Today we pray. We pray for our fallen who have been laid to rest and for the safety of brothers and sister in arms who fought alongside them.
Today and every day, we remember. We remember that our freedom is not free. We remember their names and the example of love, selflessness, and courage.
