I did it. I stopped using the excuse that I don't have a tripod or good lighting (because seriously, it has been so cloudy and dreary lately!) and I just manned (womanned?) up and lettered with one hand while shooting the video with the other 😂 here's my lettered-in-one-shot version of "cider donuts." Rules on these pieces are that I have to post my first attempt at the phrase, no practicing! Just the way @laurabolter does it 😜 I will confess to being warmed up on the iPad. I didn't just sit down and write!
The cider donuts part doesn't need any explanation, right? Easily the best part of fall. But here's the only thing- do you prefer granulated or powdered sugar? I have very strong opinions.
#motivationmonday ?? Some days are harder to motivate yourself to get up and DO something.. What do you do?? CALL YA FRIEND!! Isn’t that what they’re there for?? To be brutally honest and tell you to snap out of it.. Haha!! Saturday was not one of those days.. But it was a learning experience for me.. I MADE MY FIRST BOWL!! I’ve been bugging and bugging Laura to teach me how to change the mandrel and chuck on the lathe.. It was really a scheduling issue, so we set a date.. And voila!! My first bowl!! Today I am motivated to make more.. Hopefully soon I will make my next bowl all by myself.. 😬
Thank you @lauwoodcrafts for the patience and teaching me the ways of the lathe.. .
I will post more pics when I put the finish on it.. ♥️
I know I brag on my husband @p19693111 a lot but he truly deserves it this time. He built these shelves in our laundry room in 2 days and under $90. I can't stop staring at all the pretty jars! The far corner is honey from last year and we're hoping to fill in those shelves soon with this year's honey. I also have room for more tomato sauce. @laura.b.liberty thanks for the inspiration!! Dave said I'm not allowed to follow your feed anymore 😂😂 it's too much work for him. Just kidding Laura!! #besthusband#thankslaura#canning#prettyjars#storage
I used to see you out in the field / conducting insects with your ears. / Sun slowly sharpened / the stripe across your shoulders / and you swallowed sleep through your eyeholes. // Shifting weight to your forelegs / you lifted your head from the tender grass / and thrust it forward, long neck bulging / as a series of sharp, moist, muscular spasms, / lip-sprung, ruptured the air. // Underlying all that violence, there / seemed to be a kind of laughter—it wasn’t / malicious, it wasn’t apologetic. / I closed my eyes and leaned my arms / against the fence and listened. // Your voice did not disturb me then. / It was something that had to happen: / Heavy limbs loosed / at last from the trunk. Ice / unfreezing all at once. // I hear it different in the city, / mingled with the spit of helicopters, / the giggle of broken glass. / It’s like somebody choking on a car horn / or something metal being born. #donkey#blacksabbatical#bretteugeneralph#sarabandebooks#louisvillepoetry#ladakh#summerof92#thankslaura#thanksgeshela#jullay
