Fix one thing, find something else that needs fixing while you're fixing the first thing. That's being a homeowner, right? I seriously have THE BEST dad in the world! When my washing machine flooded he (and my mom and sister) dropped everything and rushed over to help me clean up and pull up the floor. Yesterday my dad and I spent the whole day putting the flooring back. Today was supposed to be a quick finish and put the washer and dryer back. So, of course, we discovered that my tub has been leaking for who knows how long! (Silver lining to the washer flood, we discovered the leak and are fixing it before it gets any worse.) Back to how great my dad is, he's spent the morning armpit deep in a tiny hole in the floor under my tub pulling out wet insulation. High fives to all the dad's and mom's out there who are still helping their kids in their late 20's!
That question arises pretty often, not just in my life but women’s lives in general. If you’re not working outside the home, people want to know what your purpose is.
* “I mean I know you’re a mom but what do you do outside the home?” Like somehow taking care of children isn’t enough.
Like somehow raising the next generation to be ambassadors for Christ is not enough.
I am telling the world and maybe your soul:
Mothering is no second-rate ministry. It is your ministry, and it’s ok if that is all you do because that is enough…there I said it. Mothering is enough.
It is enough for you, and it is enough for God. It is ok to put dreams on the back burner and focus on your kids because they need you now. They need all of you, not just the scraps you have left over at the end of the day. They need all of you no matter what age they are.

After almost a week of being out of town, I am ready to be home! We were able to spend some time with my dad, which is rare this time of year! I am thankful for this time and the fun he got to have with my kids. Now, back to the heat & mosquitos! #vacayisover#thankfulforfamily#summervibes#concantx#riverrats
I'm so thankful that I have good people in my life. A little bit earlier today I was so frustrated how my computer was taking a long time... like 5 minutes plus to load a page 😡. But after talking with my girlfriend she helped calm me down. I'm lucky that I created a community I surrounded myself with like minded individuals that I can turn too.
Whether it's my family, friends who love fitness, anime, martial arts, music and personal growth. Having them have made my life so much easier.
This is what I am thankful for. As being a part of a community instead of being a lone person has truly been a lifesaver! Thank you for being a part of my life! I love you all! #thankfulthursday#thankfulforfamily#thankfulforfriends#thankfulforcommunity
This little guy is with his Nana and Grandpa for a couple days!! He’s stayed with friends/family before, but never out of town when we were back at home! Such a weird feeling and I’m trying to figure out what to do with myself 😂😂😂
I miss him...but this time with just my sleeping (finally) newborn is nice!
So, I’m going to be thankful he is in SUCH good hands and just enjoy the quiet right now 😆😌
P.S. How old were your kiddos before you “left” them for the first time?? Was it super hard for you? Lincoln was 15 months! Even though I know he’s in really good hands and probably having the time of his life, it still tugs at my mama heart to let him go 😉❤️
I’m baaaaaack! Those 5 days off of social media were good for my mind, body and soul. I’m still in vacay mode (yippy), but gonna be back on the gram and sharing some exciting stuff with my favorite peeps! 🎉
My first (and very proud 😂) catch with the cast net. This thing is so fun and addicting!
Growing up, my dad took us fishing often and would use a cast net to get us some bait and just for fun to see what we could bring in. I always wanted to throw it out but it was too big and heavy for me. Joseph bought one and I totally took it over 😂 oops 🤷♀️
My fisherman, adventure loving, sweet daddy left us for heaven 5yrs ago today. I can't tell you how badly I wanted to send him this picture and let him know how I'm getting the hang of using the cast net in the ocean. He'd think it was so cool and would giggle and dote about my adventures...and probably give me all the tips and tell me all the stories! He loved stories.
Wonder where I get my love of outdoors from? 😉 and so many other things... #adventurelover#missingmydaddy#hetaughtmehowtofish#castnet#getoutside#getsomeadventureinyourlife#galvestonisland#texascoast#firstcatch#garciafamilyvaca#thankfulforfamily
