I wanted to share a little story one of the guests told me the other night. She had come along to my last event and in the goodie bag was @skinandtonicldn calm balm (which is amazing ) her daughter has been having a difficult time at school. So she’s been taking the balm to rub on her temples and it’s been calming her down. How wonderful and heart warming is that?💙 @skinandtonicldn A big THANK YOU🙌🏻 for all your incredible work. I am really lucky to work and get to know so many great small businesses, brands and individuals on here that I want to share with you more. I have 45mins to get some work done. So it’s jasmine tea and taking over the world for me!! I was shocked to find out that there is actually plastic in tea bags!! I’m mostly a herbal/decaf tea kindof girl but I’ll need to go through my stash and see what’s going on there. Can anyone recommend some good loose leaf tea companies or companies that use biodegradable tea bags???

Generalmente per il mio compleanno non organizzo grossi festeggiamenti perché odio quel momento imbarazzante in cui tutti cantano “tanti auguri a te” aspettandosi che giusto sulla risonanza finale dell’ultima nota tu spenga entusiasta le candeline. Ed infatti anche quest’anno ho preferito una cenetta tranquilla con Virnicchi e la candelina l’ho spenta sotto lo sguardo attento della moltitudine di commensali che affollano i pub il sabato sera e col senno di poi era meglio la festa.

I had a student in class the other day say: ‘I love the way that you teach us how to get more into our bodies, how to move slowly and then build from there.” This is how I love to practice, to start slow and gently ease my body in, so I’m learning to move first with my breath.
It sounds simple doesn’t it? But ask yourself do you take this approach when you want to move or exercise?
We are often in a rush so it’s easy to go into autopilot, fitting in a run, power yoga class around our working day. Rather than pushing and forcing our bodies to move, next time maybe stop, listen, take a breath and work out actually what the best type of movement is going to be for you that day. Ultimately it’s all about working towards building a stronger dialogue and relationship with your body. 💕

For the first time since July I don’t have anywhere else to be for the next few weeks/ weekends - I say with a sigh of relief. I love my work and I absolutely love to travel but I am such a home bird at heart. It’s where I need to be to feel grounded again. What does home mean to you? For me it’s: - where I shut the door and block out the outside world & let out a big sigh of relief.
- where the kitchen is the heart of the house. It’s where i spend most of my time.
- a little bit of mess or piles of cookbooks and flowers and things I’ve picked up that week strewn across the kitchen table.
- my bed.

- Time to potter and make tea and stare out the window and daydream

Autumn light 💫🌾
I’m just back from such a wonderful few days teaching here with @sisterhood_camp . Each morning just as the sun came up we gathered in the loggia wrapped in blankets sipping our tea. Slowly waking our bodies up with the morning light, making the time to notice and observe the breath and move from there. This is such a nurturing way to wake your body up, and the feedback from the women after the sessions was wonderful. Do you sit, meditate or do yoga? Or does it feel like it’s just one more thing to fit into the day and you’d rather have a coffee? I am definitely both of those people.. 😂but honestly just 5/10 minutes a day can make such a difference to your mood or how you set the tone for the day.. try it! It’s our last day out here on @lacannonerie and I’ve been sat here trying to sum up this wonderful weekend into a few words. There is something incredibly special when a group of women get together, stories are shared, there’s an unbreakable support and cheering on from all corners for every hope and dream you discuss. Tears of happiness and some sadness have been shed, there’s been a whole lot of rose, morning yoga and afternoon swims + bike rides through the vines, laughter, and incredible food (thank you Claire & Stacey). Thank you @sisterhood_camp for bringing us all together- it’s been totally magical. I can’t wait for the reunion at my next Brunch Club on the 17th November 👏🏻see you all there!💙🍷✨
Sunday 💙 started today teaching here @lacannonerie, gosh it was freezing before the sun came out! Breakfast was granola, fresh fruit croissants, brioche - or one of each, and plenty of coffee, thanks to @5oclockapron . Now off to the market... Last nights dinner set-up in one of the many amazing spaces @lacannonerie - I’m feeling very lucky to be out here for the next 4 days with @sisterhood_camp, teaching yoga, drinking plenty of rose, and eating all of @5oclockapron incredible food. We’re heading off to a cognac tasting after yoga today- it’s all about balance right?

It's definitely autumn now isn't it? 🍂 Photos are a little grainer. Socks are being worn, dahlias are blooming and dare I say it the heating might have come on the last two mornings. When you're up before 5am you need a little something to warm up! We're not the only ones are we? (It's for the girls honestly 🙈😆) This week is a super special one for us as Edie turns three! What do you look forward to most about a weekend? For me it’s nearly always what I’m going to cook or eat for breakfast. Eggs, waffles, pancakes, banana lassi, smoothie bowls - there’s just so many good options 👏🏻😋I’m spending the weekend offline in a 🌲 house with @devvy.p so hope you all have a lovely one.👍🏻 .

SWITCHING OFF 🔋 Today is our last day in Spain. And it turns out I’m not great at switching off 😩
I know my body needed it - I felt nauseous and achey for the first few days. But I struggle to just DO NOTHING ❌ I kept checking my emails. I felt guilty for leaving @the_nutritionist_foodie dealing with everything for The Reset next month so I worked on the contents for the goody bags and started new content for the journal. I did some coaching calls. I kept checking in here on Instagram which came with its usual mix of guilt, comparison, motivation and anxiety ☹️ .
It seems to me I really can’t just do nothing for 7 straight days. While I’m trying to build my own business there is just so much on my mind all the time 🤪 Even the books I’m reading are related to work and make me start planning how to share the information. It’s just how I’m programmed! 😆
That’s not to say I haven’t relaxed at all. We’ve been to the beach, swam in the sea with fish all around us, eaten tapas, been shopping, strolled the markets, had a BBQ, watched a lot of Netflix (will Breaking Bad ever end?!), picked pomegranates (from a tree! Amazing!), eaten out, played pool and had lie ins. .
Maybe everyone’s version of switching off is different? I find if I get a few things done every day I can relax more fully and completely than if I did no work for 7 days and turned into a blubbering mess worrying about what I HAVENT achieved and what there is still to do when I go back 🤕

There’s so few times in our life when we get to slow down, watch, observe, take a breath ~
I’ve recently been going to a Tuesday lunchtime time yin class. It’s just 45 mins out of my day, as soon as I walk in there’s yoga mats and bolsters laid out and a delicious smelling scent filling the room. I sink into the mat and it’s the most well used lunch break I think I’ve treated myself too in a long time. Do you let yourself have a lunch break? Or a pause in your day? What do you normally do? If the answer is eating at your desk (this doesn’t count!!) or not taking one then I urge you to make time for one and see if you notice a difference in your mood/productivity?

I’m curious to know: Are you more of a sweet or savoury breakfast type? I asked this in a poll last week and the results were pretty interesting: 51% sweet v 49% savoury!... I think I’m a bit of both. 🙌🏻

As part of my slow Sunday routine I managed a slow uphill walk this morning. My girls have been less than subtle lately about my ‘winter excesses’ and my options for the beach this summer are looking very slim (excuse the pun) - I’m considering a tent, a birkini, or under cover of darkness. Hence the walk this morning to try and redress the problem. (Another pun, sorry 🙄). I just happened to stop for a breather while I clung to this blossom tree for a bit. Meanwhile Brunnel has watched a replay of last night’s rugby game four times, in the desperate hope that this might change the result. Happy days! 🍃🍰🌳 #botanicalforagersunitedsocietyinc

My mind for most of this week has been a bit all over the place, thoughts have been jumbled, I’ve felt distracted , different aches and pains that yoga doesn’t seem to be shifting. So I gave myself the morning off yesterday, i slept in till 8, made breakfast and sat in bed and watched bake off. And you know what it was bloody great! I haven’t had a weekend at home since July (due to work and also some nice social commitments). And I am craving being at home, im a really home- bird, it’s where I feel most myself. When you work for yourself it’s really easy to constantly be working or feel like you ‘should be’, especially if you enjoy what your doing. Or you feel guilty about having time off in the week. .
So I’m giving you permission (not that you need it 😉) to take it easy, maybe go a bit slower this week. Your body and your mind will thank you 💫🙏🏻 P.s what’s your go to breakfast in bed? I always go for eggs every time.
