These bows from @alittlebowco have me stepping out of my all-neutral comfort zone, and I’ve gotta say, I like the way it feels out here! Even eleanor has been requesting them, and if she’s wanting anything other than a headband, pigs are flying somewhere 😜
If you watch my stories, you’ve already seen this, but it was just too pretty to let go after 24 hours, so I had to document it here 🤷🏼♀️ I use a Keurig and I drink the Starbucks Pike Place medium roast — normally I just run two cups of coffee through a single k-cup, because I like for my cup to be full. I skip sugar and go heavy on the creamer 😜 I’m loving Coffeemate sweet cream and I’m still hooked on the toasted coconut flavor; so I mix the two of those in my cup and stir. I’m obsessed with trying new flavors and different coffees though (and have even considered going a different route when my Keurig inevitably craps out on me), so I’d love to know how you make coffee! Which coffee maker is your jam? Or do you have a favorite brand of coffee / creamer? Tell me your secrets to the best cup ☕️
My husband got off work at 8am today, and instead of napping himself, he and Eleanor had breakfast while I slept in 🙌🏼 I definitely needed that today, so he’s my jam right now 😜 — Today was also Eleanor’s first day of gymnastics, and she loved it! I was nervous that she’d be shy and wouldn’t really let herself have fun, but she jumped right in and didn’t even need me! I’m still so proud of her ♥️ [check my stories for more of that cuteness] — Obviously we celebrated with pizza and cinnamon rolls afterward 🍕Now we’re waiting on the storms to pass before we shower. Is showering in a storm really unsafe or have I been mistaken my whole life?? — Happy Thursday ♥️
Is it just me, or has this day been a long one?? I skipped my second cup of coffee this morning, and I’ve been ready for bed ever since. So I’m off to shower and lay down at 8pm today 🤷🏼♀️ — PS what you don’t see in this picture is a neon colored racetrack just inside of that basket and a dozen doughnuts from a local bakery on the counter 😜
I planned on cleaning my house today, but as I was still working on my second cup of coffee around noon, I realized that plan was out the window. So I tidied and did laundry instead. It’s not nearly as rewarding as cleaning the entire house, but I’m exhausted just the same, so it’s gotta count for something 🤷🏼♀️ The silver lining in all of that is the fact that this stay-at-home-mom gig allows me to still be drinking my second cup of coffee at noon sometimes 😂
I’ve gotten so many questions about how we framed up our mirrors (see the before picture a few posts back), so I figured I’d do a post on how a few simple, budget-friendly changes can make a big difference. In addition to painting the vanities (with a $1 sample can of paint I had from Lowe’s), switching out the hardware (unbelievably cheap find on amazon!), painting the walls (Sherwin Williams Alabaster, of course) and getting new lights ($100 for all three from Houzz!!), we decided to frame up our builder grade mirrors. Y’all, we bought the cheapest wood that Lowe’s sells. I think it was $2/board, and we used one board per mirror, so $6 total. We also got some corner brackets to make the frames feel intentional (those were a couple bucks too), and we sprayed them with the cheapest can of matte black spray paint that Walmart sells. My husband cut the boards to size and stained them. Then he used wood glue to glue the boards directly to the mirrors, and some clamps to hold the boards in place while the glue dried. He then attached the corner brackets straight to the wood with some tiny screws, and that’s it! So for less than $20, we framed three mirrors, and it feels brand new in there 🙌🏼 [swipe for a close up]
Not a lot going on in this photo, just had to bring some white back to this feed of mine; and the way that these curtains look from this angle makes my heart all kinds of decor-happy ♥️ Give me white, bright, flowy, airy, neutral-ish, cozy spaces and I’m set! What’s making you happy today??
Reminiscing about these floors at @biscuitlovebrunch in Franklin, Tennessee 😍 — word to the wise: want people to remember your establishment? Make it instagrammable! ...oh, and it helps when you make french toast out of biscuits too 😜
Y’all, it’s been a good day! Got some laundry done (I’m still swimming in a sea of it over here though), rode around scoping out potential houses after stalking them on realtor.com and the tax assessor 🙈😂 (it’s a little scary the amount of information that is made public on the internet 👀) and now we’re just hanging out on the couch — How has your Tuesday been??
Good morning! ☀️ Welcome to my half bath aka “worst room in my house to get a photo of”!😒 This was yesterday’s project, I’m replacing the ugly towel bars one at a time. Slide 👈🏻 for the before and during pics. Hope everyone has a happy Tuesday!! 😊
Even though I’m really excited for our little road trip, I know I’ll be ready for my own bed again the minute I lay down in one that’s not mine. Is anyone else like that?? — Hope you had a happy Tuesday!
Sharing a peek at Eleanor’s (not quite finished) bathroom makeover today! We painted the walls (which were greenish-khaki, like the rest of the house) with @sherwinwilliams Alabaster, and upgraded her rug and shower curtain. That’s literally all I’ve done so far. I feel like this space needs a shelf of some sort above the toilet, but since the vanity and mirror are both wood, I’m not sure that a wood shelf will work. Do I put a white shelf on a white wall, bring in a different color altogether or go back to the drawing board??
So I know everyone’s upset about this seemingly eternal winter, (too much Frozen in my life when I’m using their exact words), but let me just tell you something about southeast Georgia... Our summers are endless. And I don’t mean 75 degrees and nice, or even 85; I mean 99+ humid, sticky and miserable summers that last from April until December (we never bundle up on Christmas morning because it’s too hot!) So while y’all are having snow for the millionth month right now, we’re experiencing an actual Spring, and my heart is so happy! Thanks for taking one for the team, guys. 😜 — Happy Tuesday
I’m not the best at flat lays, but I love seeing them in my feed, so I’m working on it 💁🏼♀️ [feel free to leave your best flat-lay tips below] — Now I have to talk about this shirt that I recently got from @thewillowrabbit because y’all, it’s so soft! I went with my normal t-shirt size (medium) because I like a looser fit, and it always leaves a little room to knot the side or do a front tuck. [Please tell me that I’m not the only one forever doing that half-front-tuck thing 🤣] But if you’re not already following her, you should go check her stuff out @thewillowrabbit. I also got these $98 Levi’s for $14.99 at Tjmaxx because DEALS, and I’m obsessed. They’re the “wedgie fit” so they are high waisted and wider around the thighs, which I love! There’s nothing worse than denim shorts squeezing the heck out of your thighs in the south ga heat. Who’s with me?
Wishing that basket wasn’t full of junk right now, and there weren’t crumbs on the countertop over there. I’m lacking in the inspiration department today, so my solution is to clean! When there aren’t big messes everywhere, it’s much easier for me to feel inspired and execute my ideas. What about you? What helps you feel inspired when you’re in a rut??
