How many times in life have you quit on something...and justified that choice by telling yourself it “just didn’t work out”?
School isn’t my thing. So I dropped out. It just didn’t work out.
My marriage ended in divorce, because it just didn’t work out. That person wasn’t right for me.
The whole dream of being an artist just didn’t really work out. So I’m done with it for now.
I’m busy, so eating clean/going to gyms just doesn’t usually work out.
I used to say that to myself ALL the time too.
The TRUTH was that saying it seemed to provide some sort of cushion under my own failures.
It somehow made them seem like less of a big deal.🤷🏼♀️
The year that EVERYTHING in my life changed..was also the year that I finally started to realize that life doesn’t happen by chance, but by CHOICE.
After I dropped 6lbs, I KNEW that didn’t happen overnight. And that I hadn’t stepped on some lucky scale either.
No...I had WORKED at that. For 21 days straight. I decided to let go of all the self limiting beliefs wrapped up in “___ just doesn’t workout for me.” And I decided to COMMIT to the process of hard WORK.
After that month, I CHOSE... I chose that my life wasn’t going to be dictated by that silly phrase anymore. Because I was willing to put the work in...and in doing that, I SAW the results!!!! (For the first time ever)😳
...So I also CHOSE to drop out of school that year. I CHOSE to stop pursuing music. I CHOSE to enroll in a Yoga Teacher Training. I CHOSE to move to Nashville. & I CHOSE to commit to my health everyday. because MY life was going to be dictated by my hard work.
Yes, life gets hard & we run into unforeseen obstacles everyday, but I CHOSE that I was going to STOP being a victim of those obstacles, and with ALL that I am, CONTROL what I can control....
(which in most cases is a heck of a lot MORE than we think.)
So ask yourself...
1. What am I telling myself just “doesn’t workout for me” ???
2. Is that true? Or is that simply because I CHOSE not to put the work into that area?3. What’s stopping me from CHOOSING differently?
Sunday night = planning for the week ahead. I’ve been extremely tired all week so my biggest goal for the next few days is to feel more energised (and that doesn’t equal chugging down 5 cups of coffee a day 🙃). So, I’ll attempt to:
1. Wake up the at the same time every morning.
2. Eat a nutritious breakfast and bring healthy snacks to work to avoid an energy crash in the afternoon.
3. Work out 3-4 times during the week and go to yin yoga on Saturday (new habit of mine that I LOVE).
4. Go to bed at a reasonable hour.
These should be possible, right? 🙈 focus is self care and balance, as always. Wish me luck 😄 Do you have any goals for next week? ☺️

❄ About the snow. It seemed like it was coming. Then it didn't snow. At all. Winter advisories in places. Roads a hot mess. Cars in ditches. And I'm just sitting here waiting on the damn snow!
..... 🌡 It's been cold, here in Montana, and the windy could make you cry. Man is wind colder than anything on the planet. But the show must go on. This weekend I FINALLY finished my dresser. Buying furniture from people who smoked 24/7 for at least 50+ years? Questionable. Not my worst mistake but definitely not my best idea. Anyways the dresser is done. Smoke free. Well actually the nicotine is now trapped inside a layer of chemicals. Gosh there are so many chemicals in home improvement.
🏡 But the dresser is done and lessons have been learned. I keep taking on little projects so I can be prepared when I finally buy a home. A smoke free home. Pet free home. Gosh maybe a new build is looking nice right now. But new builds have no character. Anyways, boys, them power tools, they aren't just for you. I'm locked in loaded, learning day by day how to kick ass in a man's world. #bridoesmontana
