What's that saying? It Takes A Village To Raise A Child. All 3 of these amazing women have played an important role in my life. My beautiful Mom, My former choir/ youth director Mrs. Gladys and Mrs. Denner who has been like a second Mom and Aunt to me. I love them all so much! ❤❤❤ #churchanniversary#terraceonthepark
#Flushingmeadowpark is like coming back home! This #22 out of #50NYwalkingparktour had me reminiscing when I was a little girl and my dad used to to take me and my sibling here weekly! #Flushingmeadowpark has everything! It’s enormous(I didn’t even finish it, lol) There’s the #NYworldsfairpavilion , Worldsfairobservationtowers (Men in black), #NYunisphere , #Queenszoo , #Queenssciencecenter , #ArthurAshetenniscenter , #Queensiceskatingrink , #Queenstheatre multiple playgrounds and basketball/baseball courts, picnic areas and the #Meadowlake . Well I started my trek in and around the park at the bridge near the world fair pavilion then walked around past the zoo where I saw some cows and sheep chilling. Hovering above is the #Terraceonthepark restaurant. I circled around the #NYhallofscience where I saw replicas of rocket ships. Then I walked around the open areas of the park then across the worlds fair bridge past the pavilion and towers. #Flushingmeadowpark has numerous tree groves, that if your caught up in the famous scenes you will miss their beauty. While thinking about my child hood I do not remember seeing #MeadowLake . I’m glad on this warm windy I was able to experience it. Walking the lakes winding paths and seeing the migrating water fowl and willow trees it gave me pause. Thinking on how many people from all over the country enjoyed this park and got together to showcase the future of the world at the 1964 worlds fair. There hasn’t been a worlds fair in the US since 1984. While walking to the other end of the lake i guess because it was Halloween, God played a trick on me. The bridge to finish up the lakes walkway was closed so I had to walk all the way back around. Lol! 😰See #FlushingMeadowpark is again VERY huge so I took on the challenge but by the time I got to the other end I was almost done! (7.2 miles) Though I perked up seeing these beautiful rows of Sycamore trees that led me to the Worlds famous Unisphere next to the #Queensmuseum ! Seeing the Unisphere and thinking on the present state of the world kinda breaks my heart. I wish the theme of this beautiful structure stays true for our human race. “Peace Through Understanding".
