Do you know that tempeh can also b fermented in a glass container.? It’s easier for those who don’t want to use plastic and it’s difficult to get daun simpoh air or banana leaf.
U just need to cover d top.
Do you know that you have to wash your hands before making tempeh? But don’t use antimicrobial soap, we still need that good bacteria from your hands..
Do you know that tempeh can be made from different seeds and legumes, not only from soybeans? One of our participants even saw tempeh made from lamtoro gung (Leucaena leucocephala)seeds at hidden market in Karanganyar, near Solo.
Those intriguing conversations popped up during our fun Tempeh Workshop with @arumdalu.farm.
Stay tuned for another round of exciting workshop at @kaum_jakarta on September 29. ☘️🌿☘️
Spice up your weekend with some Southeast Asia dish. Tempeh which are fermentated soybeans that originates from Indonesia. It is a great source of protein and incredibly healthy too.

Sometimes you set out to just use ‘whatever’s left in the fridge’ and then you surprise yourself with an epic bowl 😅
Peri-peri tofu, steamed broccolini, avo, tempeh, red onion, jalapeños, quinoa and a drizzle of peri-peri sauce.
Still think a vegan diet is lacking protein? 😋😋
All the salad please! We'll take a giant bowl of this vegan kale Caesar salad, made by the lovely @megdejong.nutrition loaded with sautéed Tempea tempeh, nutritional yeast and a garlic, lemon and avocado sauce. Brb, we may have just died and gone to salad heaven 🌱
🤭 It’s a common misconception today that without the consumption of animal products, our protein requirements will not be met. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth!☝️😌
There are many sources of plant-based proteins that are more readily absorbed in the body than its animal-based counterparts🐄🐓
🌱In my dish I included chickpeas; A great source of vegetarian or plant-based protein.. As well as tempeh and lentils. There’s even protein in cauliflower and in plenty of dark leafy greens🌿.
Cauliflower contains compounds(Such as indoles) that stimulate the body’s natural detoxification system to neutralize carcinogens, preventing them from attacking healthy cells; Slows tumor growth; Lowers (Excess) circulating estrogen levels in the body, which will reduce the risk of breast and uterine cancers; As well as minimizes the risk of lung cancer along with other members of the brassica family🥦
To taste I added cumin, garlic powder and paprika👅 Spicing foods organically is a good way to add extra nutrients to meals as well as improve digestion and immunity🤓

Hey there 💓 How is everything? My parents came to visit me for the weekend! It has been so nice to see them, I’ve missed my family 😩 They are staying in an Airbnb, so I was able to get some of my favorite foods from the Whole Foods store and cook it in their kitchen 😇❤️I made my crunchy tempeh (recipe is in the link in my bio!)! And put it on top of a salad made with fresh arugula, dill, cucumbers, and tomatoes that I bought from the farmers market! I added a little salsa on top as a dressing 🤗 I have been missing home cooked meals SO much 😪 While there are no complaints and I am perfectly fine with the food here, I miss cooking my own food ! It’s something that I very much love to do. Other than that I’ve been cozying up and playing one of my favorite childhood games! Today is my rest day so I’m just taking it easy 😛
DInner is serrrrrved.
One of my all-time favorite meals to cook 🍲 is a stir-fry type melody.
With lots of vegetables 🥒🌶🍠 and spices of course.
Probably one of the easiest, most effortless dishes to make in my opinion.
1. Chop your veggies.
2. Choose your seasonings and oils.
3. Cook together in a large enough pan. Add the leafy greens LAST. Add Peppers and Onions 1st.
Threw in some Tempeh, Quinoa and Terriyaki sauce on this one 😍
The employees who walk by always talk with us. Today, two workers told me how they kill the 60,000 chickens per day: they are shackled upside down by their feet and put on a conveyor belt, a machine slits their throat, they are dragged through a vat of water with electric current running through it, then their feathers are removed by dragging their bodies through a vat of boiling hot water, next he said his job is to cut off their feet and someone else cuts off their heads, then the other guy said he rips out their guts and removes their testicles. ---------------------------------
The same two workers told me that since they started working at the chicken slaughterhouse they've stopped eating chicken.
Transport trucks don't normally come. I cried a lot today because two trucks came through with hundreds of babies. Babies who by now have gone through everything that I described above. #friedchicken#chicken#friedtofu#tofu#tempeh#seitan#beans#vegan#bevegan#govegan#veganfortheanimals#animalliberation#animalactivism#animarights#animals#voiceforthevoiceless#untileverycageisempty#untileveryanimalisfree
Not too quin(oa) on vegan food? Maybe a bowl like this can change your mind! 🥦🥒🥑 Green xxxxx Bowl: Seared Tempeh | Hemp and Sunflower Balls | Pesto Quinoa | Steamed Kale | Bok Choy | Cucumber | Zucchini | Smashed Avo | Pumpkin Seeds | Tahini | Pumkin Pesto Sauces
