I consider this to be the 1st western series on the xbox360 ps3 era. Sure there was GUN, but that was also on ps2. 2 things connect this series the name McCall and the city of Juarez, Mexico.
Call of Juarez takes place in 1882 Texas and you play as two characters. Ray McCall a notorious gunslinger 40 years ago and Billy Candle who was wrongly accused of murder. Ray is stronger so he can carry heavy objects and wears heavy armor. Billy is stealthy and use a whip as well as a bow and arrow. As you progress you learn about a lost treasure that curses anyone who seeks it. Murder, secrets and an old past returns. There is even another story about a framed lawman, worth playing.
Call of Juarez bound in Blood
Takes place during the American Civil War and is the prequel. Play as Ray or his brother Thomas in 1864. While in the Confederate army the McCalls abandoned their post because their home was going to be invaded by the Genral Sherman and the Union Army. Saving their farm and their younger brother who is a pastor they now flee to Mexico. Their commanding officer learns of the betrayal seeks them out to hang them. While in Mexico years after the war ends the McCalls learn of the treasure of Juarez. As they make their way their old commanding officer seeks this treasure to resurrect the Confederate army. The highnoon duels are excellent keep your eyes on you opponent and draw fast.
Call of Juarez The Cartel
Ben McCall an LAPD officer works with an Female FBI Agent and a Male DEA officer to take down an international drug cartel. You can play as either 3 individual and each are better with certain weapons.

Yesterday Techland, the developers behind the Dying Light and Call of Juarez games uploaded a video on there facebook page teasing what could very well be the return of Call of Juarez Gunslinger a ps3 and xbox 360 arcade fps.
The 30 second video has the protagonist from Gunslinger, Silas Grieves, addressing Arthur Mogen from Red Dead redemption 2 stating Legends Never Die.
The video was short, with only a couple of landscape shot and a brief glimpse of Silas from behind, but there is no denying that Gunslinger will return in some fashion. This could be a re release or a full fledged sequel and honestly either one is good for me and makes for an excellent addition to Games you might have missed.
Call of Juarez Gunslinger was one of the best shooters I have ever played. Instead of focusing on realism like the previous entries in the series, Gunslinger it took on a total arcade feel but didn't loose the depth of a traditional shooter. The shooting was tight and felt amazing. There was a nice variety in weaponry and each gun felt unique and powerful, with enemies heads exploding into a bloody mess with a well aimed headshot

Techland is using the upcoming release of Red Dead Redemption 2 to tease something related to Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. This came in the form of a new video released on the company’s official Facebook and YouTube accounts where Gunslinger protagonist Silas Graves leaves a message for Arthur Morgan, Red Dead Redemption 2’s main character.
Specifically, he talks about how “the old west is full of legends,” and how these legends never really die, and can come back “stronger than ever.” While the message is aimed at Red Dead Redemption 2’s main character, it’s clearly referring to the state of the Call of Juarez series as a whole, and how Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is about to make a comeback.
Eurogamer reached out to Techland for a comment, and they definetly played coy, reaffirming Silas Graves’ “Legends never die,” comment:
“The Call of Juarez series means a lot to us and we’re not ruling anything out for the future. Legends never die, after all.”
