It’s been two days since she’s gone back to California! The days that we spent together consisted of eating good food, shopping, and laughing until our stomachs hurt! • Fun fact: She calls me Rae Bae. ❤️ It’s one of my favorite nicknames!
Here’s a mini review/tutorial on this wash & go using @goodebuttershop Banana Pudding Extra Moisturizing Cream & Sealant Oil & @camillerosenaturals Curl Maker.
1️⃣Starting with my hair in 4 sections, I split the first section in half & apply the Extra Moisturizing Cream. My hair was feeling kinda dry before applying this & it seemed to slurp it right up lol. This cream is super thick & it was able to moisturize and define my curls without having used a leave in underneath but I believe a leave in definitely would’ve taken my hair to the next level with this cream 🙌🏾 The cream smells like bananas but it is a nice, very light, non-lingering scent.
2️⃣Once I’ve moisturized both halves of the section, I seal in the moisture with the Sealant Oil. This is a lightweight oil consisting of grapeseed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, & vitamin E oil. It smells just like coconut oil to me. I like that it sealed in the moisture from the moisturizing cream without making my hair oily.
3️⃣Once I’ve moisturized and sealed all of my hair, I like to go in with a styler for extra hold. I split each section in half and apply the Curl Maker to soaking wet hair. I find that applying my stylers to soaking wet hair gives me the most definition. I have a review using this gel on my channel but it smells like grapefruit (non-lingering), has good slip, and gives my hair a strong hold (dries with a gel cast but I scrunch out the crunch as shown on my channel)
4️⃣Once everything is applied, I take my T-shirt and scrunch out the excess water and product and let my hair air dry.
5️⃣Once dry, I break the gel cast, fluff a bit, slick down my edges & that’s it. Once the cast was broken for the most part lol (still a bit crunchy but will fully break as the days go on), my hair was lightweight, soft, shiny, & moisturized.
In love with the burst of inspiration that comes with the promise of new possibilities. A mood I always want to be in. 🌞
Currently in an inspired headspace. Grateful to God for motivation and excitement. What season are you in?
If you're considering getting or doing box braids this summer...yes!...try them 👏🏽. They're a lotta fun, I love them 💕. From what I read online 🤓...you can keep them for up to 12wks with proper care & moisturizing your scalp regularly. My routine thus far: I spray my Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla leave-in conditioner on my scalp & follow up with Creme of Nature 7 Treatment Oil (massage scalp) & at night I just cover the braids with my jumbo satin bonnet. I did mines using 5 1/2 packs of kanekalon hair & the rubber band method. •
Added: I answered ✌🏽questions below about heaviness & itchiness incase you had a question about either.
