🌿 healthy blonde 🌿 The key to healthy hair is regular trims and of course the right product regimen for at home care 🏠💦 Did you know that New England has the oldest pipe system in the USA??? Hence why many blondes turn yellow or brassy from minerals in the water. It’s good to clarify your hair once every 1-2 weeks and use professional products at home. This is why we ❤️LOOOVE❤️ @love_kevin_murphy products @tealhairstudio not only are they filled with REAL ingredients like essential oils and fruit and nut extracts but they are also cruelty free 🐰🐰 Many “professional” products are still made with silicones and synthetic fillets, make sure to READ LABELS 🗞📖 inform & educate yourself 📖 You deserve it 💚💚💚
Beautiful blonde balayage. We brought up her balayage and brightened her ends. I’ve been using the @jbeverlyhills silver toner on multiple blondes at different levels and different tones and I love the versatility. The results are beautiful and natural every time.
It’s so true! I love being a blonde and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my natural dark hair. But it’s a process and yesterday I shared some of that process on my instagram story. As I explained in yesterday’s post getting blonde certainly depends on your natural level. I’m a level 4 which means I need to use stronger levels of lightener to achieve my look. May hair is achieved by doing a full back to back balayage with babylites. I also practice what I preach and use the same B3 on myself that I use when lightening my clients to protect the integrity of my hair (because believe me before B3 came along, I’ve been dumb and thought I was smarter than the rules of science and broken my hair off). That part of the process takes about 3-3.5 hours. Then I process for another 30-45 minutes. Then comes a toner. I live in an area with some of the worst hard water. I have to clarify my hair weekly as well as use a blonde shampoo and conditioner. I also tone my hair about every 6-8 weeks just like I recommend for my blonde clients. So yes I love, love, love being blonde but if you want to be blonde please know that it’s time and maintenance, but well worth it!
In case you haven’t caught on, we’re showing some major love to our vivid color guests this week. We love when our guests embrace a wilder, funkier look. Whether it’s peek a boo color or a full head of hair like this look by @jess_devine_ , we encourage everyone to have fun with color at least once in their life!
It’s important to note that results for your hair will vary based on your natural level. The lighter your natural level the less pigment and warmth that has to be lifted for your hair. I’m a natural level 4 (dark brown). My hair has to lift through red, orange, and yellow. Leah (pictured here) is a natural level 7 (medium blonde). Her hair only has to lift through orange and yellow. So when you want to be platinum remember that results will vary and the journey will be different for everyone depending on your starting point.
Take care of your skin! I can’t stress this enough. I can’t emphasize how many mothers of the bride or grandmothers of the bride tell me during a makeup application consultation that they aren’t happy with their skin because of too much sun exposure or smoking at a young age. Invest in a good skin care routine and SPF because your going to be in that skin the rest of your life. And don’t just focus on your face. Your neck and décolleté are two areas of your body that can really show your age or age you even more if not properly cared for.
It’s such a huge compliment when your boss trusts you with her guest’s hair and just as big a compliment when her guests trust you with their hair! We brought up this beauty’s balayage and went blonder. Love a girl who says “the blonder the better”
We are so appreciative for the amazing reviews our bride’s have been giving us! We are so lucky to work with women on such an important day in their life. Great job @beautybyoliviawinslow on making your bride so happy!
Sand in my toes 🌴 sun kissed cheeks ☀️ @kevin.murphy.session.salon hair resort in my hair for the beach wave look 🌊 #summerbayalage using @affinageamerica lite and satin toner 😘 @tealhairstudio @styledby_kristen_g
This tip is for my brides. I often get asked what styles is better: up, half up, or all down. The truth is a variety of things such as the dress, dress shoulders, and neckline, as well as the style of your wedding can all factor into your look for the big day. But nothing is more important than what you are comfortable with. If you hate wearing your hair up on a normal day then an updo may not be for you. Likewise if you can’t stand your hair moving or touching you because it’s going to be hot for your outdoor wedding, down might not be your favorite option. Yes you want to look like your most glamorous self, but you still need to be comfortable and feel like yourself
My new guest was nervous and excited to color her hair for the first time so we decided on a subtle balayage. At the end she was so happy with the results and said she may want to try Red next time! Love it when people get excited and want to try new things ❤️
🔷🔹take a look at this transformation, swipe to see the process ⬅️ shown at the end is her 8 week color fade🔹we lightened her roots with @jbeverlyhills max lightener, then used a custom blue color using @pulpriothair 🔹🔷 that shine tho 👌🏼
It’s summer and that means time in the pool and other bodies of water. Put a little conditioner, young again oil, or miracle hair in you hair before getting in the water. It helps prevent unwanted mineral buildup in the hair.
I keep preaching... dimension makes a difference! The photo on the right is at the trial prior to giving her a partial balayage. The picture on the left is the actual wedding day a few weeks after her first balayage session. The braid looks fuller and the bun more texturized
Please please please keep up with regular haircuts! Whether you are growing it out or maintaining the shape, getting regular trims keeps your hair healthy and growing. If you have split ends they can continue to split all the way up the hair shaft cause damage to the entire strand not just the ends. Products can reduce the appearance of split ends but nothing but cutting gets rid of them. The timing of your cuts depends on the desired style and length as well as how well your taking care of your hair so check with your stylist.
Color correction can be so many things and number of sessions can vary. In this case we used our first session to 1. bring up her blonde and 2. work on removing unwanted brassy tones where the hair wasn’t lifted enough previously. Higher blonde balayage gives a more natural look as if the highlights are growing right out of the head and now some of those brassy pieces look more like purposeful dimension
How gorgeous is this photo from Alyssa’s wedding?! @lyporleong did a beautiful job on the bride and I had so much fun glamming her bridesmaids! (It helps they all have gorgeous hair to begin with 😉)

Since our featured product of the month is the Kevin.Murphy Angel glosses let’s talk glossing! Glossing gives your hair extra shine and locks in your color. The Angels come in 4 hues that you can add on to a service at the salon or take home. I recommend glossing once a week to give your hair that healthy shine!
✨Embracing her grey 😍😍from chestnut brown to beautiful grey with dimension ✨I’ll be honest this wasn’t easy but with the right company the journey is a blast!! @joannestanway @styledby_kristen_g @tealhairstudio @affinageamerica @evolvesalonsystems
We should all be getting a keratin treatment! Your hair is made up of mostly keratin protein. Over time things like free radicals, the environment, chemical services, over stylings and products can strip away the proteins and integrity of your hair. Keratin treatments like the one we do at the salon help put protein back into the hair. Keratin treatments also help to smooth out hair and eliminate frizz as well as cut your blow dry time in half. Where i work we use an amazing product called Cezanne which gives great results for several months and is formaldehyde free! If you didn’t see my post from yesterday go check it out. It’s a Cezanne before and after so you can see the results for yourself
So grateful for this amazing review from my bride Molly. This is why I love doing what I do. Weddings has been one of my biggest passions since I started beauty school. When I see amazing reviews like this it’s one of the best feelings a person can feel. Knowing I took away stress from a bride and made her and her girls feel gorgeous is the ultimate reward.
Exactly one week ago. Congratulations to Colleen! @beautybyoliviawinslow did an amazing job on the bride and I had so much fun doing the hair for these lovely ladies! As always Pebbles and Olivia did amazing makeup. It’s so great to work with such an amazing team making women look and feel beautiful
