Thanks to everyone who participated in the trivia contest! I learned a lot of interesting facts. Nichole @thetravelingblondie submitted the winner: It took 13 years to complete the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC and the citizens didn’t trust that it was safe. It was May 1884 and PT Barnum proposed taking his 21 elephants, 7 camels and 10 dromedaries across the bridge to prove its safety. The New York Times wrote the next day, “To people who looked up from the river at the big arch of electric lights, it seemed as if Noah’s Ark were emptying itself over on Long Island.” I wish I had known this when we walked over the bridge a few years ago! It’s clear why PT was The Greatest Showman! Swipe to see an illustration of the event by The New Yorker. Be sure to check out Nichole and all her amazing travels. This photo of hers in Spain looks like perfection to me! Honorable mention goes to @roy_lowndes for making me laugh and to @marijatravels for participating twice. #triviaislife

Totally obsessed with corner banquets for dining at the moment. Especially when it’s pink! 💗
Add a little antipasto (& random black balloon 🎈?) and you’ve got yourself a pretty sweet setup!
It’s #mothersday here in Australia today, so sending all my love to the beautiful women who brought us to life 💗👶🏼
Going for something a little different for my dear mumma bear - these alien looking shower head things! She’s either gonna love them or hate them! Either way I think they’re glorious! 🌵🌾🌻
So incredible happy to see that the winners of my 1K Giveaway has received their little presents! 2 of my ‘makers gonna make’ tees, available real soon from my website (also soon to be launched). I hope you love them as much as I do @whatsaraknits & @mkinthepines 🌻🌞🎁
Trying out something a little different, not sure how it will turn out or if it will actually work...but will give it a go nonetheless! It’s either gonna be an awesome macrame stool or a wooden frame with cotton rope dangling of it 😆 We shall see!
Sending these babies off to their new owners @mkinthepines & @whatsaraknits who won my 1k Followers Giveaway! I am so thrilled to be sharing these with you two lovely ladies, and I hope you love them too! Make on!
Abraham Lincoln is recognized as the best president of the Union. Abraham Lincoln is well known for his impressive accomplishments, including preserving the union during the Civil War and signing The Emancipation Proclamation into law to end slavery.
However he is not known for his ability to overcome significant and ever present obstacle in his personal life. He is less known for being born inside a small cabin, living in poverty, having a credit score on the low 300s (yes, credit scores being around for over 237 years), depression, contemplating suicide, bankruptcy, having little formal education, etc. Episodes of depression left him feeling worthless and with suicidal thoughts. We don’t know him for none of these challenges. Why not? Because he did not let his challenges and vulnerabilities dictate his future and hold him back from his full potential. He did not use his challenges as an excuse. He embraced his vulnerabilities and found strength in them. He refused to become victim of the circumstances or scape to excuses. He was not afraid to show his true self. No filters, no facade, just a genuine man. He was not afraid to speak about his vulnerabilities and challenges. He find his purpose and marched toward that purpose. He realized he needed to accomplish something of importance and bigger than himself. Such mentality gave him reasons to live even when he felt as he wanted to die. He defeated his demons by focusing attentively on his goals. It was said that he walked miles to borrow books to read and learn. He read while others slept, he read while others play, he retreat into books to improve his literacy. Such actions enable him to become a great writer leading to his composition of The Gettysburg Address. If you truly want to do something, you will find a way to do it. Excuses are readily available for those that want to justify their mediocrity.
Remember this; adhere to your purpose and you will overcome anything. Substitute excuse for hard work and the will to make things happen. Excuse come from the two Latin words Ex-Causa or out of cause. Think about that. #justmythoughts#teachmesomething#lincoln#pastandfuture#takemethere#alone#thinking
