Yesterday I spent most of the day getting all checked out before my upcoming birthday at the end of the month. I had my annual physical, mammogram, other girly exam, blood work and flu shot. Next up is the dentist.
Don’t make it a New Years resolution to take care of you. Do It NOW 🤗. The airline says when necessary put on your oxygen mask first 😷. In other words take care of yourself first so you can be around to take care of others.
Now I will book the hubby and my 2 heart beats. Physical exams, Flu shots and dental cleaning for everyone. 😂

I discovered a new trigger for my panic attacks last week. I was attending the Hyde Park Winter Wonderful with my husband and it was so busy. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before (and I’ve been to Disney World!). I got myself all worked up because I was so worried about losing my husband in the crowd so we decided to find a seat and get a drink. We found a table and he said he’d just pop to the bar and I could wait at the table and hold the seats. We’ve done this so many times before in many different places so I didn’t think it would be a problem. The tables were long with bench seats either side that were full of people! Everybody was merry and singing to the live band that was playing - 6 months ago I would’ve loved this and no doubt joined in! But this time it was different. I lost sight of my husband and I could feel the panic rising inside of me. I tried to call his phone but I couldn’t get through. The panic got worse and worse and I could feel my heart beating faster and faster and the tears building in my eyes. It was at that moment that he came back to the table, took one look me and then whisked me away out of the crowds and out of the park. Apparently I pull at fabric, be it my coat, my scarf, my dressing gown, my duvet, etc when I have a panic attack and he noticed that I was doing this with my scarf when he came over. I was so thankful that he picked up on this and got me out of the situation that I cried with relief sitting on a park bench on the edge of Hyde Park. We went back the next day when it was quieter and it was honestly one of the best afternoons I’ve had in several months. Patience is one of the most difficult things in grief. Others are always telling us how to feel, how to be and we should be further along by now. The most helpful thing you can do for yourself is be patient. Value your own feelings and be where you need to be 💕
You don't have to defeat your mind. You just have to accept it, observe and see how you can support your own healing

For me positive affirmations work wonders, and if my mind is running wild, I see.
I see, accept, speak out my thanks and look how I can support me. Often it's about working smart and not working yourself to exhaustion on all levels.
My bodys sick rn, there's a big shift taking place. As a lot of fear shows itself in form of physical pain (gastric acid/reflux) and every time I lay down to sleep it starts hurting again, I just decided to sleep with my back supported by more pillows. I'm not fighting it, I'm not angry - I'm tired and I know that this is an old pattern to get my own attention. So I see what's possible for me and do my best to support me. And as it's already quater past 12, I'm covered under 4 blankets with 1 hot water bottle on top of my tights I now do that - sleeping. Body needs resting time.
Just a little reminder: it's not about destroying the old, it's about creating the new.
Btw: it helps to switch roles and see yourself as ur best friend/a lil child - what would you tell them if they were in ur situation and asked for advice? Perspective, kindness and flexibility is everything. ~ Adapt 🌙

WHEN I SAY YES TO SELF CARE
In the spirit of full transparency, I can’t remember the last time I cleared my schedule and let both, my mind and body rest. More times than not when I’m sick, I let the body rest, but will continue to push the mind to do work OR like the other night (this pic) I let the mind rest while it was entertained by the best comedian @ginayashere while I pulled my body out of bed and made it do some work.

When the grind doesn't stop and your 48 hours out from hitting the road and barely over a week till Christmas, its annoying af to be this sick. If you have a bubble kid bod like me and you get sick rather easily, make sure you take care of yourself. That may look different for you than for me, but you need to honor it to keep it from totally breaking down too. If you need to rest, then rest. If you got a wicked chest cold like I do, taking a couple days to rest and recover helps a lot more than pushing through. Drink your liquids, eat food that heals your body and rest so it can repair.
Also try to not end up with an ear infection at the same time. 🙋🏼♀️ and also science shows cuddling with your pet has healing powers ( I made that last part up but I still think its true😬).
