I have been feeling a bit of anxiety lately. I’m not exactly sure the cause but I’m in an off state. Life has been happening and I have definitely not been on my meditating game for a while so today I popped into my office early to score 10 minutes of alone time. I was almost done when I heard the pitter patter of little feet coming to find me. Since I wasn’t quite done I told Gavin to join me and for the first time he actually allowed me to finish and did it with me. Maybe we are onto something 🧘♀️🧘♂️ Today is going to be a day of refocusing energy to a higher state 😊

Taking responsibility for our own mental health is paramount, yet the message we receive is always posing the question outward. Of course its important to always be kind to others. No one can know or judge another's struggles.
But today, and everyday, please ask yourself, Am I Ok? What can I do to care for myself today. Even 10 minutes of self care a day can make a huge difference. Take off your shoes and walk in the grass. Listen to the birds chirping. Drive to the beach and watch the waves. Stick your feet in the sand. Sit outside with a cup of tea, without your phone, and just enjoy the simple pleasure. Listen to a guided meditation recording before you go to sleep. While you are showering in the morning, imagine the water washing away any stress. Have a soak in the bath.
Taking extreme self care is not selfish. When you love yourself and show yourself kindness, you become a calmer, kinder person to everyone else. Love yourself a little more today ❤

A little something to contemplate, start the week off fresh and free! Get some fresh air and free yourself from your devices! Technology is in so much of our lives these days it's hard not to do something that will include tech (hell I'm posting this from my phone right now 😏) but remember that we still need a break from time to time.
Today I took my 10 minutes of mindfulness and meditation outside in the fresh breeze and smell of these gorgeous flowers in my backyard. I already feel more energised, more in touch with myself and accustomed to wanting to be outside today rather than stuck on the couch on my phone or in front of the telly binge watching American Horror Story before the new season release. 😜
Why not try it yourself look away from your phone or device, go outside for 10 and use that 10 minutes to let your mind breathe, release tension and forget about your social feeds for 5 minutes and be free!
September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month, which changed me.
Last June I was diagnosised with Thyroid Cancer. Last July I went in for a long intense surgery. I didnt have a bump on my neck or anything wrong with my thyroid levels on blood work... but I was struggling and at my lowest of lows. So low that when I was told I had cancer it was a relief that came over me... I had an answer for once.
Did you know a mjority of people struggle and never let others know? I was known for always fighting through the hard times.. but inside I wasnt ever happy I always did it for these two in the picture with me. I didnt know there was another way.
Now... I still fight through the hard times but I do it for the THREE of us in this picture. Posh helped me find happiness. I went to Nashville as Sadie and Tenzlies Mom but came home NATALIE a woman, a mother, a sister, a daughter. The sisterhood that Posh is is greater than anything ive ever had.. doesnt compare to facebook, high school, or church groups. Why? Because women and men are coming together to lift each other up.
So when I share about Posh its because I just know there is other people out there that need something to give them a piece of self care, self love and self worth back into their day. Thats what #take10 is all about. Its about you.
