The Mayor greets the Captain. Every day the conversation gets stranger and stranger. Turns out being a river local brings out the creativity in people, to say the least. Always a lovely part of our day. #riverboatpostman#cruise#sydneytourism
Kit Kat Chunky - New York Cheesecake
Trash Food Guidance 1. Taste and Fragrance: This is the strangest flavour of Kit Kat that I have ever tasted. It has that classic wafer centre with a thick chocolate coating. However, the "cheesecake" filling that is sandwiched between the wafer biscuits is very odd tasting. I think that they have gone too heavy on the cheese flavour. Its almost sour tasting. It tastes a little like the aftertaste of milk, 20 minutes after you've finished drinking your milkshake. Its not great. I wouldn't go for this again. The odour is also a little sour, like yoghurt, not like a chocolate bar. 12/20
2. Texture: The Kit Kat Chunky used to be my favourite chocolate bar when I was a kid. The main reason was the texture. I loved to bit the chocolate exterior off of the wafer and slowly nibble the wafer away. I had a full ritual with it. The cheesecake flavour still allows me to do this. The filling isn't so soft that you cannot bite the exterior off, leaving the middle intact 18/20 3. Appearance and packaging: That classic square look of the bar is unchanged. Very nice, solid and appealing lines. The package has a cool New York graphic on the outside. Its a bit kitch but you get where they are going. Its cute. The pack is easy to open. 18/20 4. Value/ price: I bought this from the dollar store near my house. It was 50 cents. They have a whole wall full of them for 50 cents. I'm guessing that the price is because they taste like dirt. Anyway, the price is right. You can have four of these suckers for the price of a regular bar - 19/20 5. Novelty/ fun factor: A Kit Kat Chunky is a spin on the regular Kit Kat. And the Kit Kat Chunky New York Cheesecake is a spin on that again. Its like a spin off of a spin off. I like that. I usually really like the flavours that these guys do, but this one isn't a hit for me. Still. It's a novelty, but in the same way that Frankenstein's monster is a novel way of presenting the human form. Its different, but is it better...? 15/20
Total - 82/💯 Nutritional value 1. The Trash Factor: The fact that this is a cheesecake in a chocolate bar tell you that the trash factor is high, +20 for #health
Collaboration. Cocktail innovation from Guangzhou’s Hope & Sesame comes together with the finest from Mode Kitchen. My favorite was the pepper crusted kangaroo paired with the Flor de Cana 4 years, Del Maguey Vida, Raspberry and Lime cocktail. Not forgetting the white chocolate covered ice cube, making for a flavour filled day.
In My Life. Another year has passed since moving to Sydney and touching down in Australia for the first time and I’ve learned so much in a short time. Feeling grateful for everything, yes everything I’ve experienced as I’ve grown because of it and thankful for those awesome people in my life and this amazing city in which I live. A lot has been achieved but there’s so much more amazing things to experience and memories to make. Here’s to many more.
Trash Food Guidance 1. Taste and Fragrance: These are tiny little caramel bombs of happiness. The caramel has a rich and sweet taste and the chocolate is smooth and milky. You can definitely get a whiff of caramel when you open the package. Very enticing. 18/20 2. Texture: This "bar" comes in the form of a stack of little chocolate squares. They are filled with caramel and have a biscuit base inside. The chocolate is firm but not too thick. The caramel centre is gooey and runny. I prefer this over a hard filling. There are also small biscuit pieces inside, which give it a little crunch. This is a great addition to the consistency of the bar. 18/20 3. Appearance and packaging: The little squares are cute and have a nice geometric design on the top. The squares are a nice size and you can easily eat them one at a time, or in a handful. The bright colours on the wrapping are super cool. I love the colour and the font. This is definitely another UK candy bar. The European styling and design is evident. The wrap is paper which make it easy to get into, but it can be messy of you don't peel the candy pieces just right. You end up with bits of papers everywhere. 16/20 4. Value/ price: This was another one or the bars that cane from the variety pack that I bought from the @therejectshop so it's high on value. The bulk purchase is always a winner 18/20 5. Novelty/ fun factor: British candy is definitely a favourite of mine. The bright colours and bold fonts are great. I also like to think that I'm a bit of a connoisseur of #internationalcusine and because these are rare in Australia. The novelty is high for this one. Although, the similarity to a Rolo Bar reduces the novelty a bit. 16/20
Total - 86/💯 Nutritional value 1. The Trash Factor: Well, as caramel is essentially just fat and sugar we all know that the trash factor is up there on this one. The serving size is quite small though, so fewer calories than many similar bars. Not sure of a small serving size should be considered a win though. I give this +10 for #health 👌
