A huge thanks to everyone who swung by for Almost Christmas Weekend this year, with friends from Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand, China, France, Australia, Hong Kong, and fellow Singaporean dancers. Big thanks also to @annehelene.cavasa and @bernardcavasa for amazing classes and performances and music! The weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the help of @jingalingalingaling @hieroclesx Chai, and everyone else who helped in one way or another! Thanks to who performed and to my Swingtet musicians Eugene Chew, Edmund Wuu, @nulgnoy @kazhiramatsu @manderwaalsforces for swingin with me! #swingmusic#balboa#blues#lindyhop#swingdancing#swingdancers#almostchristmasweekend#acwsg2018#jazincsg#swingby

BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA
“Boogie Woogie Christmas” (Surfdog, 2002)
. . .
#Swing and #rockabilly have always been natural allies with #ChristmasMusic , so who better to do a Christmas album than #BrianSetzer ? Since this album, in fact, he’s virtually become a Christmas artist! But that’s because he’s really good at it - and he brings people joy by doing it. What could represent the holiday spirit better than that? I just wish it didn’t have goddamn “Baby It’s Cold Outside” on it. Yeah, I’m a snowflake - but this is snowflakes’ time of year!

Oggi ho assistito ad una lezione-concerto su Django Reinhardt e ne sono rimasta davvero contenta! Ho potuto scoprire aspetti della sua vita e della sua musica che non conoscevo.
Che dire, viva il jazz! 🎸🎶
modding cheap guitars: my man @vicwomg swapping the stock @theloarofficial p90 with a @mcnellypickups sparkletron, and a tapastrings vintage endpin jack. first half audio is the original, second half is the new pickup. played through a @vintage47amps it’s got that shiny rockabilly twang, but can still be rolled off and be jazzy. .

Iconic Blue Note album covers by Francis Wolff: Miles Davis Vol 2.
Miles Davis, Vol. 2, an Album by Miles Davis. Released in October 1953 on Blue Note Records. The original 10 inch LP contained music from Davis second session for Blue Note, recorded April 20, 1953. Davis was joined by artists such as Jimmy Heath, Art Blakey, and Percy Heath for the session. This recording was made at a point in Davis' life when he was struggling with heroin addiction and didn't have a regular band. This album shows how Davis was moving beyond pure bop to create his own unique musical vision and style.
The album cover was designed by John Hermansader and the picture was taken by Francis Wolff at one of the recording sessions.
