•THe 5 S’s FOR SOOTHING BABIES• ⠀
If you read the Happiest Baby on the Block, you would know all about the 5 S’s, but if you didn’t, here is a shortcut for you! These should help in calming your fussy baby. The first 3 months of your baby’s life are referred to as the “4th trimester” therefore helping your baby feel comfortable in the outside world just like they felt int he womb can really help minimize therir fussiness. ⠀
▫️Swaddling: It decreases startling and increases sleep. Babies should only be swaddled at night time. ⠀
▫️Side or Stomach Position: Sleeping on the back may be the safest way but will not help calm a fussy baby. you can hold your baby on her side, on her stomach or over your shoulder for better results.⠀
▫️Shushing: In the womb, the sound of the blood flow is very loud, therefore using a white noise machine can truly help calm your fussy baby. ⠀
▫️Swing: While slow rocking is fine for keeping quiet babies calm, you need to use fast, tiny motions to soothe a crying infant, support the head/neck, keep your motions small.⠀
▫️Sucking: many babies calm better when sucking, and pacifiers are a big help. (We prefer paci over a thumb since it’s much easier to wean baby from the paci).

Me and Darcie are still buzzing from a fantastic weekend! Well more me than her, she’s just feeding and going to have a nap 😂 But if I’m honest I felt such #MumGuilt leaving the other 3 all day yesterday! They had a lovely day with Daddy and were in bed asleep when I got home. This morning they all came running in saying how much they missed me and Darcie! 💕 Hope you all had a lovely weekend and a positive start to the week this Monday!
