I got several messages about the wreath in my laundry room and guys it's seriously the easiest wreath EVER to put together and super inexpensive 🌿 I am waiting on a holiday wreath to go in here but didn't want to leave this chippy piece of wood I fell in love with at my favorite local antique shop bare so I made this wreath to dress it up for now. I purposely made a spring type wreath that I can change out after the holidays using one of my favorite greenery lambs ears 🍃 Everything is from @hobbylobby.
I started with a grapevine wreath ($4.99) and purchased two lambs ears garlands buying them on sale for 50% for $9.98 each. I started from the outside of the wreath and wrapping the garland around working my way in securing it with wire every 2-3 inches. I used 2 garlands because I like a fuller wreath. I finished it off with a ribbon I will want to use in the spring and that's it. Super easy and took me less than 30 minutes ❤️
4 DAYS before I decorate for Christmas! I tagged my 12ft tree and have started taking down all things fall. .
@speckledneststudio is creating lava bead and cinnamon ornaments while I cram beating a bug, editing and cleaning into 4 days. .
I am a sucker for traditions and love making our own traditions. This is our first Thanksgiving in our new living area and we are so grateful for it! Our new tradition is throwing away black Friday rush and spending that day instead decorating the tree, drinking wassil, decorating the house and baking/decorating Christmas cookies while watching a Christmas movie! Can't wait! .
Do you make decorating the tree/house a family event? .
Another round of storms at 3a.m. has me 🤪 this morning. It's so annoying to be a light sleeper. I need to learn how to master the dead-to-the-world-nothing-can-wake-me kind of sleeping my hubby does for REAL. Am thankful this is a no school week as it will no doubt be a messy bun and no bra for the win today 🙌 Its the little things right?! 🤣 On sunny mornings I love how the light dances through my bathroom window. Such a simple thing that always brings me joy ❤️ Happy Monday before we eat turkey and pie sweet friends! 🦃
Another weekend that flew by way too fast! At least it’s a short work week and only three more days til Thanksgiving! Are you hosting or do you go to someone else’s home to celebrate the day of 10k calories?
They say a Sunday well spent brings a week of content and I would have to agree 🙌 Today has been a very lazy one as the boys have spent hours playing Legos and I have enjoyed watching some of my favorite holiday movies while I work on a blog post for a client. Kind of weird but watching movies helps my creative writing process 😁 I have ADORED my Holly Berry candle from @kandacandles my whole house smells AMAZING 😍 Anyone else love to spoil themselves with candles especially during the holidays, or just me?! Her candles are 100% soy and hand poured. I have loved it so much I just ordered Fire + Cider. She is offering 15% off with code KANDA15 🌲 Hope the rest of your Sunday brings you a week of content sweet friends ❤️
Yesterday in my stories I shared my Woodsy Garland from @floraltreasure (I have two on my mantle) Made with preserved eucalyptus and cypress my whole house smells like an evergreen forest 🌲 I ditched the tradition of stockings years ago and love the simplicity of decorating with greenery. I have another garland and several of their holiday wreaths (including the one hanging by the tree) ❤️ They are having a sale through Sunday for 20% off + free shipping 😊 The boys and I are snuggling in for the night to watch my favorite holiday movie Polar Express🚂 I hope your Saturday has been full of some of your favorite holiday things 😍
Kid Friendly Decor • The holidays are such a magical time for kids and it can be hard for them not to want to touch and play with everything. As a mom with a very busy and curious 6 year old, I try to create a couple of areas that are 100% kid friendly. A space for him to freely create and doesn't cause me stress like this area in our foyer. He loves to take the trees out of the truck, set them up and arrange them back (he usually has a few Lego characters set up too 😆). He enjoys playing here and I don't have to worry about something getting broke 🌲 The metal truck I found on Amazon. The trees and snowy birdhouse came from @hobbylobby. So if you have littles look for ways you can create a holiday space all their own ❤️
The Colonial House fireplace (remodel #3 ) process pics.
To those of you who don't enjoy painted brick--look away!! 😂
If you notice from the before to the after picture, we actually eliminated the semi-circle hearth and replaced it with a rectangular hearth. We also jack-hammered up the bricks on the floor and ran the wood floor straight up to the base of the fireplace. .
Our contractor built the mantle with a white painted base and a walnut top. .
The ceilings are pine barn siding. The wood floors are birch.
One of my favorite rooms to decorate for the holidays is our guest room that is turned into a relaxing space for Santa (you can scroll left to see more photos)🌲 My youngest has so much fun helping me with this room and it's a space he loves to bring his toys in to play. It's always so magical to see the holidays through the eyes of children ❤️ (Be sure to tap on the photo as I have tagged my favorite sources for holiday decor)😊
